well, we usually perform several songs after games, but the wisconsin band happened to be about to perform. as for halftime, i didn't think either halftime was amazing. i liked our music and wisconsin's drill. each band was allotted 5 minutes which is lame. 2/3 of our show had to be cut out.
not to mention 95% of the wisconsin fans were facing home side.
also, i don't know how the wisconsin band were being asses by the sound crew playing all three versus of "jump around." at home we only play the 1st verse, so take it up with the sound guys. we got "jump around" because you're school got the horse and flaming spear (which is pretty cool) at pregame. i'd say it's pretty fair.
just to point out, that wasn't the "gator chomp" for us, we do that as a sarcastic clap at all sporting events, it just turned out your rival is famous for it. also, "hot time" is not our fight song, "on, wisconsin" is. we play hot time before a game/period/ quarter and after a touchdown. and what class your band has if they're up by several touchdowns and playing the losing team's song. in the big ten we have enough class to play the opposing school song before a game to show respect.
that's an unfortunate coincidence then. i apologize. from our side, it looked like you guys were being complete jerks. we're also one of the few (if not, the only) bands in the acc that also plays the opposing team's fight song before the game. we just happened to play "hot time" at least once at every game. good to know about the "jump around" thing. the sound crew guys almost screwed us over. i wish i could've seen you guy's after-game show. it's always fun to see fellow marching band members.

So, the drumbeat that you did along with the chomp was a "sarcastic tribal drum beat" that you guys also do every game, and had nothing to do with mocking the warchant, correct?

well, the wisconsin band was being asses the entire time. (seriously, the gator chomp? like we've never seen that before) and having to listen to all 3 verses of "jump around" while we should've been playing our 4th quarter fanfare. they deserved it.
Hot time is such a sexy song.
