Even if you NOTHING about sailing, having a great attitude and an eager willingness to learn will carry you a long way. @kaizokuXpirate --- tommot9 is right, I am 68 and have been sailing for over 45 years now and i started out with a home made sailboat I built when I was 12 and then on to a sunfish for $50 , I rode my bike to a marina about 12 mile from home and just walked up and down the marina and just asked if i could go sailing and what I found out right away was sailors are the best folks ,remember that a question not asked is a question answered no--ask and you have a 50/50 chance of a yes -mrseabeemike
Another great video. We finally got the fuel tank for our Morgan 28 in place. This week, I hope to get the tank locked down so we can take her our this weekend. And thanks for the bulkhead painting tip. It took 2 coats of Kilz to cover up that nasty faux wood panel look, but the change brightened up the whole cabin and moved the look forward about 30 years. :) Sail on.
Now, how did you get the fuel tank in and out? I think I'd have to pull the engine to get the tank out of Whimsy. The prior owner did just that around 2005 IIRC (both engine and tank removed and replaced). But, he just cleaned the old tank and put it back. (The tank is made of Monel, and is still sound even though it is OLD!). Anyway, I'd like to be able to pull the tank without removing the engine if only to inspect and clean it regularly. ;-)
@tommot9 The original tank was missing when we purchased the boat. Fuel was supplied by an external tank. I bought a Mueller 12 gallon tank, cut through the bulkhead in the quarterberth, built a 'shelf' behind the engine and mounted the tank through the bulkhead opening.
