I just wanted to thank you for these videos you put up.. I have a 2003 Ford Taurus SES and You helped me with my serpentine belt, alternator, and headlights!! I need to change my break pads soon and I'm just grateful to have these videos to help me understand my vehicle and how to fix my vehicle! If its possible you should put a video up of how to get to your head gasket!! Thank You for your help!!
@suiteflow you're welcome thank you for visiting out channel. We carry a great selection of Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable auto repair parts on our website 1aauto.com; all of our parts also include FREE SHIPPING in the USA!
@mattayday With the calper mounted you can use a large screwdriver, put it through the hole you can see the rotor in and pry the outside of the caliper out away from the rotor.
@sagehiphop You'll have to push the piston back in to the caliper as well. Don't forget about removing and replacing the wheel and tire :) Always pump your brakes a bunch of times before road testing.
@1aauto alright. im having a problem gettin those two screws off of the caliper i have a 01 taurus and have the 12mm socket rachet screws wont budge. any advice?
@sagehiphop Just have to ask the simple question you are turning them counter clockwise correct? They should not be that tight and the should come apart. Spray what you can with penetrating oil and try again. If they do break you will have to replace the entire caliper.
@maazisworld It depends on what you replace. Just replacing pads and rotors you should not need to bleed. If you have to disconnect a brake line for any reason then yes you will need to bleed them.
It's pity that you guys don't ship items to The Netherlands, otherwise i'd certainly become a customer !!

So there's no need to bleed brake lines anymore?
guitaristwagner 4 months ago
@guitaristwagner If you have a hard or soft pedal, you should bleed them to get any air pockets out of the system.

What size of C-clamp do you recommend for compressing the piston?
kurtbutfrank 6 months ago
@kurtbutfrank
which ever fits
JohnLemonX 2 months ago
@kurtbutfrank Pretty much one big enough to fit around the caliper should be fine.

if you don't have a c- clamp, how do you push the piston back into the caliper?
