  • Is that a 69 GTO on the other side.?

  • @trio3d That's a 66 GTO.

  • This video was a real help. Replaced the brake pads for the first time on my 03 taurus.

  • So there's no need to bleed brake lines anymore?

  • @guitaristwagner If you have a hard or soft pedal, you should bleed them to get any air pockets out of the system.

  • yes very good video

  • What size of C-clamp do you recommend for compressing the piston?

  • @kurtbutfrank

    which ever fits

  • @kurtbutfrank Pretty much one big enough to fit around the caliper should be fine.

  • Right on thanks alot.

  • exellent video !

  • Very helpful. Thanks a lot!

  • if you don't have a c- clamp, how do you push the piston back into the caliper?

  • @mattayday With the calper mounted you can use a large screwdriver, put it through the hole you can see the rotor in and pry the outside of the caliper out away from the rotor.

  • So if you are just replacing pads just remove caliper, change pads, replace caliper???

  • @sagehiphop You'll have to push the piston back in to the caliper as well. Don't forget about removing and replacing the wheel and tire :) Always pump your brakes a bunch of times before road testing.

  • @1aauto alright. im having a problem gettin those two screws off of the caliper i have a 01 taurus and have the 12mm socket rachet screws wont budge. any advice?

  • @sagehiphop Just have to ask the simple question you are turning them counter clockwise correct? They should not be that tight and the should come apart. Spray what you can with penetrating oil and try again. If they do break you will have to replace the entire caliper.

  • this video was very useful, thanks!

  • Will the brakes need bleeding after installing?

  • @maazisworld It depends on what you replace. Just replacing pads and rotors you should not need to bleed. If you have to disconnect a brake line for any reason then yes you will need to bleed them.

  • @1aauto Thank you very much! You just saved me a ton of money..Peace and Blessings to you!!!

  • scroo the taurus,, i want that lemans in the background,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • @KatanaMasta88 That would be a GTO. It is a '66 and has been in our family since '67.
