  • amazing video JazzVideoGuy!!! thanks alot! :)

  • I need a time machine, These kids nowadays have no idea.

  • I don't know what it is but jazz just makes me feel happy inside. As much as I love industrial rock, death metal, classical music etc jazz seems to instantly make me feel good. Maybe it's because it's more expressive and free...

  • Happiness is there :O

  • oh my fucking god... that was amazing.

  • 4 blind mice missed the like button

  • Great band! ..and I like the commentator's insights at the end.

  • i wish i was born in that decade !!!

  • Respect each other ! Jazz in this fashion is a life lesson. Much different than the intellect that is "popular" ($) now !

  • rest in peace, billy

  • Utmost respect for trained musicians, the way they put it all together from a basic idea is nothing short of genius. I wish I had learned to play an instrument when I was younger.

  • Es ridículo ver al presentador intentando explicar con palabras lo que todo el mundo ha podido oir y comprender simplemente oyendo la música. Los músicos estarían pensando " pero tío de qué nos estás hablando?"

  • how they go about making the bass line for this????

  • I dont like modern jazz that much but ive just heard this and think its exquisite.Great post, thanks

  • That's Doc on the trumpet. Who is the host of the program?

  • this video taught me so much

  • Words fail me...and I'm a poet!, except to say, I loved it.

  • Reminds me of the Three Stooges since they used three blind mice as an intro song in some of their shorts.

  • "The laws of the group exist to give each individual the maximum amount of freedom. I would say that is an extremely nice way to live and it's a very good way to make music.".................. here, here!

  • Is that Doc Severinsen on Trumpet?

  • Awesome vid

    -----Thanks-------

  • this is so sick, i love it wow.

  • just shows how good these guys were,im doin a music degree at da mo and god bless them, keep this stuff alive

  • Billy Taylor, piano with Tony Scott, Doc Severinsen, Mundell Lowe, Ed Safranski, Jimmy Cleveland and Osie Johnson.

  • The second example sounds like "Blues for Alice".

  • The guitarist at 1:25, lighting up a smoke! Love it!

  • @lewisldurham You can see the cigarette stuck between the strings on the guitar's headstock at 4:33. One of those things you catch when you watch it over and over.

  • amazing

    thanks for sharing

  • improv within an arrangement..... <3

  • Wow. It's always very interesting to experience art in the act of its production.

  • Cool, and impressive.

    Wish I had the mastery.

  • this is amazing, man

Jazz is a great form of music

  • Doc SEverinsen on trumpet

  • Amazing.. just tell em the theme, tell em the key and get rollin'. That's a true band right there. I was amazed at how talented they were as individuals, especially the trombone having such complexity.

  • cool

  • anyone know if this series available on dvd? (or even VHS)

  • Sadly, it not available on DVD or VHS. Perhaps some time in the future...

  • yeah - kinda figured that'd be the answer. Thanks for the quick response - and the videos!

  • @JazzVideoGuy Then "Thank you!" all the more, JazzVideoGuy!

  • This blows me away. It's like watching magic unfold. How these cats made something wonderful on a moments notice is beyond me. Hey, JazzVideoGuy, thank you for sharing this.

  • ! Learn So Much ! !GRACIAS !

  • Wow, I've never seen Billy Taylor before, k He's a MF on the 88's. Cn anyone ID the rest of thre players? Can anyone recomend something else by Billy Taylor? A brief bio on Billy? Impressive indeed

  • I can recognise Doc Severinsen on trumpet and Buddy DeFranco on clarinet and I'm guessing Jimmy Cleveland on trombone, Mundell Lowe on guitar and Osie Johnson on drums.

  • OK - thats not Buddy DeFranco, but Tony Scott.

  • Thanx so much for the vids.

  • That's Great.
