Over 20 years ago she was dubbed a "Communist", and the U.S approved of what the military dictatorship did to her or other labeled "Communists". Yet today the U.S praises her like some kind of goddess.
Who is the prick or pratt who disliked trhis video.Shame on you!But I am sure ASSK would be the first to forgive you.
She is 65 years old and imprisoned for 14 years by a brutal regime.Barack Obama,Mr.President, try changing this regime before China gets its fingers in the pie of mineral and financial wealth.Stop the arms trade by China and Russia. The land belogs to the people.Oppose the elections this year,2010.Write to your Mp or Congreesman/woman
@analsculpture: Your idealistic praise for Aung San Suu Kyi is understandable. However, don't forget who installed the Burmese junta in the 1960s and gave them money for decades to fight the Burmese Maoists. Gen. Ne Win was one of Washington's many butchers throughout the world.
Our tears may flow at the tragedy of her fate, but instead we should raise our voices to help ensure her release! I understand that China is keeping the Burmese military dictatorship in power. Write to the Chinese embassies in your countries. Tell them to stop supporting such a bloody regime! As Bono of U-2 says: "Thank God for Amnesty International!" Thank God for this remarkable woman!
Talaga? Sa tingin ko hindi magiging posible ang plano na maging isang bansa na ang Cebu... Yong Mindanao nga hindi pinayagan.. Cebu pa kaya na isa sa bumubuhay sa ekonomiya ng Pinas... Hehehe! Tama ako diba?

Should freedom, democracy and human rights prevail everywhere in this world OR should money, guns and dictatorships rule part of it? The whole world has to agree on this one. One woman alone doesn't have a chance against despots and empire builders
I should add that the burmese Generals and their business cronies (Tayza is the prime example) have bank accounts in Singapore (and their wives go there for shopping!). The West should at least put pressure on Singapore if they are "scared" of China.
The main reason why the military junta could stay in power is because they do business with China (including Hongkong), Singapore and Korea (both of them). China delivers most of the weapons and is interested in exploiting natural resources (gas, gems, timber, etc.). China is building a gas pipeline across Burma and a naval facilities on the west coast to have access to the Bay of Bengal (pearl of strings strategy). People in the West are afraid to criticise China because of US treasury Bonds
Not Enough..... Not Enough..... Not Enough..... It has been 20 years under the current military regime and 26 years under the regime before this one (since 1962. ) And what can the UN and the World do for the innocent people and their leader? "NOTHING"... Inside we are facing GUNS and PRISON SENTENCES....... we've been practicing non-violent movements so far......are we wrong? Should we turn to armed-struggle?
I deeply admire and fully support Aung San Suu Kyi - and all the others who stand up and speak out about the horrors perpetrated by tyrants- often with their lives being lost to the cause. She may certainly use my voice and I shall do my part to make that possible.
How can the Western Gov's just stand by and do nothing, what's in it for them? Why prop up this illegal junta? cheap oil by any chance or is it selling them arms?
This is sooooooooo wrong.
Well Done AI and Human TV. Let more people know and maybe something will happen.
