  • The guys were all like, "Oh my gosh we can see her hair!" lol

  • niquab <3

    niquab is my live

    le niquab c'est ma vie

en france il ya de la discrimination supprimer donc tous les loie qui consiste au non discrimination car aujourdhui elle ne servent à rien, sa commençe tous comme hitler à commençé

  • They were looking at her because she is two feet taller and blonde

  • i know some women wear it and love it!

  • @InvisableSnowKitty she makes it sound like all americans and western europeans are all trashy women. But we aren't, many of us have respect for ourselves and our neighbors. However we do show our arms and our legs and our hair, that's how we were raised and that's how we live, that doesn't mean we have no respect for ourselves.

  • She had he veil on for two seconds and burst out in tears! Was it really that bad to have your face covered for two seconds!? She doesn't understand that it's their choice and that women having no rights is a stariotype brought on by them covering up.

  • This video is so stupid! "I'm very scared because I'll be going to a country that is famous for giving women very little rights". YOUR KIDDING RIGHT? Go bash islam somewhere else. Or better yet, just bash your head into a wall :). Get your facts straight, and then subject your opinion publicly. Islam is a beautiful religion.

  • @applerox101 I'm not even muslim and I totally agree with you! This lady is crazy!

  • lol this lady has clearly no idea what Islam is about and has no idea what the hijab/niqab signifies... Her ignorance is so sad. Only if she knew what Islam has to offer women and children she wouldn't be saying that muslim women have no rights. Insha'Allah she will be guided onto the right path and discover what Islam is really about!

  • I love niqab! I love that i am free to wear it in the US.

  • lmao what the hell is this. this lady makes it seem like wearing that veil is bad just because it is different to her. oohhhh I am so glad I live in the west ahhh. That is fucked up.

  • mashaAllah she looks wonderful with the veil!!..may Allah guide her, amin

  • I can understand feeling strangely (and even negatively so) about dressing in a way that is so unusual to you, BUT... did you notice how every male she passed was gawking at her? I'd rather veil than be shamelessly stared at everywhere I go!

  • @heartgirl40 i rewinded the video several times because i found it so funny how every guy's head snapped in her direction lol

  • @heartgirl40 Then again, it wasn't her fault. She was covered, but the men still looked due to every other woman in the market being veiled except their eyes. I understand why she cried. The decision is a very personal one and only Allah swt can help a Muslima make it.

  • @heartgirl40

Well, she was there with a camera team, so that might be the main reason.

  • @heartgirl40 She was talking to a camera as she watched...that might be why lol.

  • @heartgirl40

    It"s because of the cameras

  • and this is why i hate being blonde. smh. few of us actually act like that, but i hate being associated with that behavior.

  • Poor girl.

  • she acts like a blond idiot

  • I wish to visite Yemen some day, insha'ALLAH

  • Non Muslim Woman , U Look More beautiful with Hijab , than without.

  • @tashidublin ..indeed, she looks great with Hijab. But Niqab is not necessary.

And the other women (showing her the store) seems to be happy in this society there :-)

  • @tashidublin

thats not the point though, right?

  • It's kind of funny watching all those guys just stare at her. Here's this extremely tall, obviously Western, blonde woman walking through the streets of a Muslim country. All the guys were shorter than her! Somebody else has to see the humor in this!

  • I find her reaction absolutely SHOCKING!!!

I LOVE wearing the hijab, niqab and abayah. I feel content with following the command of Allah. I hope Allah guides every woman to wear it for His sake alone. Ameen.

  • @salafiyyah91 She only started to cry once she put the veil on. And seeing as she couldn't recognize herself, as it wasn't a free choice, she was moved. For that you must sympathize with her. At least she wasn't rude.

  • lol Niquab is not that bad at all

  • sorry that sick islamic saudi arabians ideology isnot needed in any other parts of the world where other culture and religions exist, actually this head covering and male dressing is in the culture of arabians, indians too, before the arabs invaded india the indians all over india had some sort of their own dressing for man and woman too,it is all cultural and not religious but mohammed made it very religious and holy because he did every nasty acts in his life so he just did not wants others do

  • @jay51941

would you please stop insulting my prophet :)

  • She think it's weird and she feels uncomfortable wearing it..... but you can see how every single person she walks by stares at her, because she's showing off her trashy self. Have some respect you pathetic person.

  • @AliyaRousan Do you honestly believe that all those "Muslim" men walking past this lady were regarding her as an object of desire? Don't Muslim men have any sense of morality? Why is being looked at by a man walking past such a degradation ? Are men not fellow human beings? Are they always thinking of sex? All this brain washing of women to make them believe that a veil protects their honour! A woman's honour is intact when both men and women behave honourable. A veil has nothing to do with it

  • @AliyaRousan I hope she wanders down saudi in a bikini, because fuck them. It's a human body, get over yourselves.

  • @AliyaRousan That's mean.

  • When I first watched this I thought it was bull crap, and I still do. I love my hijab, I love my niqaab! I started wearing niqaab years before I was married, a year after I converted to Islam. Hijab is beautiful and I can't imagine not wearing it. Granted, being American and living in the west, it's not easy, but I love my hijab! This woman is making mockery of it and trying to make it seem oppressive. This is ridiculous. It's beautiful seeing all those women in hijab!

  • it makes her relise how lucky she is to be western? ,, Allah guide her heart <3

  • I think her reaction after putting everything on was a little bit disrespectful...like she just ate a turd or something. I dont know...I felt uncomfortable at her laughter, like it's a joke. any where I go, I always remember to be mindful of others culture and customs.

  • And this just shows how backward these veil wearing countries are. They are a disgrace not just to themselves but to humanity as a whole !

  • I have a male friend who sometimes puts one of these pieces and pretends he is a woman. It was fun the first times, until he went to far and started to actually go to Mosques and pretend to prey with the women. I am afraid he is getting used to it cause it's no longer for a laugh that he is doing it.

  • In all fairness, I can see how this outfit would be beneficial to a lady... in the middle of a sandstorm.

But then the Saudi lady in the video said that everyone wears "lots of eye makeup". I'm confused. How is gaudy eye makeup in congruence with the modesty that wearers of this garb suggest is their goal?

And why don't the men wear the same garb? The male body is a thing of beauty too - shouldn't they also be concerned with protecting their modesty?

  • Hey Im a white male and I wear the hijab all the time, I also like to wear the burqa.

  • How lucky we are to live in the West? No, how lucky we are to be the representatives of Islam by virtue of our veil/hijab. No rights for women? We have the right to choose to be Muslim, to choose to wear veil or hijab, and the right to worship the one true God.

  • @ummsafiyaah

so poetic, so powerful and exciting, my god, propaganda gets better by the generation!

  • Nowadays women r sooo westernised. They wear the hijaab and the abiyah but they wear so mych makeup and arent even dressed modestly

  • & to all the Muslim on here commenting we honestly shouldn't waist our time arguing with these people... If Allah has veiled their hearts there's nothing that we can say Which will make a difference of their POV of Islam, insha Allah Allah will guide them but until then I'm sure they'll keep saying filthy stuff

  • I wear Niqab too and love it. Muslim women aren't oppressed although the west lives to tell themselves that. Were treated like princesses if you only knew.

  • The veil is so beautiful and I would love to wear niqab myself. I was born and raised in the United States, am Native American, and I am blessed to have become Muslim. <3

  • hates niqab? i love niqab. im not married or anything and i wear it and ive lives USA all my life and will continue. and im native american indian. its my choice and i love it so much...but i suppose to each is own

  • @kronlovespoetry masallah!

  • @kronlovespoetry A native muslim?! Ive only heard of, on the internet. Mashallah! I would love to hear your story as a niqabi in America, thats Native. LOL, sorry for getting to excited but wow! May Allah continue to guide you on the straight path sister feesabililah.

  • @kronlovespoetry you are free to be a clown you are free to do so in the U.S. if that's your choice.

  • Does it acyually say in the Qu'ran that women should/have to wear veil?

  • @pauldve No. That is where hadith comes in. It is the shame and pride of our ummah.

  • Kate Humble laughs to much..

  • This video is real and I'm glad she did it. She showed how I think I would feel. For yall women who like it- good- keep your men happy over there- don't bring that crap over here.

  • This video is just so ignorant, not all muslim ladies are forced to wear niqab or hijab, many muslimahs like me are doing it by own will and feel very happy about it!! Not like the lady in the video whobsad "feel my suffer" pff. It's our lovely religion!! This video are saying "ooh im so sorry for them" but noone has to feel sorry for me, im not sad! I'm a covered muslimah by own will and many women are, stop being so ignorant, and i dont feel lucky to live in the west, i want to live in Saudi

  • Comment removed

  • @Cabro0na you tell em sista! :D

  • @Cabro0na so its not so bad cos only some r forced to wear the niqab??

  • @emfri

no niqab is NOT bad, its fantastic and i love it, a lot of other women too.

whats bad is to FORCE. that ACTION is bad...

    //Proud & happy niqabi-muslimah (ex-christian)

  • @Cabro0na the niqab is bad to the person who is forced to wear it, so is the action of the person who forces her of course, but just cos u love ur niqab and think its good doesnt mean it is for every girl who wears it...

mvh Emfri (current christian (is it important that u used to be christian?))

  • @emfri

yes of course someone who's being forced isn't going to like it,

but what i mean is u can't say that "Niqab is bad because some is being forced 2 wear it", though its very rare. i never said that everyone loves it. but as said: Islam doesn't allow compulsion. if u didn't know that, its because u haven't read the Qur'an.

    so whats the problem really??

  • @emfri

yes its important to say that i used 2 be christian, because i want people to know that i choosed becoming a muslim & wearing the niqab on my own.

there is many ignorant people out there who believe that "no one can choose this on their own, especially not a occidental girl who used to be christian before"

  • @Cabro0na so a former christian girl couldt be forced to wear a niqab?? i dont think it makes a difference, ewcept it wouldnt be ur father forcing u in that case... but please do tell me why u chose to wear something like that, im very curious

  • @Cabro0na yes, keep inside in the middle age good luck.

  • @Cabro0na Yes I wear khimar too and it's my choice...I am north american and I am really proud to follow Allah's prescription....

  • @whisper6123 Yes it is easy for you living in the FREE DEMOCRATIC WEST and trying to showoff, having no idea of the suffering of women in the suppressed Islamic countries. And all these names for various outfits(its a joke)! You are taking the women's liberation back to 14th century and have blood on your hand when every woman is killed in those countries. I hope Allah would let you sleep at night.

  • @Cabro0na they do it because they want to portray Muslims as savages and opressors, but one day they shall know the truth!!

  • "comfortable in the West"?? Is that why the West have the highest abortion rates and eating disorders?

Niqab is our choice. We feel free when we are not being objectified and enslaved to dress & impress strangers in the streets. She may have worn it out of mere fashion but MUSLIM WOMEN wear it because we believe it is part of our faith.

Islam is the only religion which is a complete way of life. Wearing the veil forces MEN to judge me on my intellect & speech rather than my body.

  • My first experience was similar, but now, I feel naked and cold without it. Subhanallah, it helps increase your modesty. I disagree with her comment about having little rights for women in saudia, but I understand her perspective and how she feels that way. Coming from where she is from, it's hard to feel otherwise.

  • My first experience was similar, but now, I feel naked and cold without it. Subhanallah, it helps increase your modesty.

  • Kate Humble, God bless her said she feels lucky to live in the West. However she has failed to bring forth the reason why many Muslim women cover up, both their body and their face. It has got nothing to do with feeling as though you are uncomfortable, in fact covering up for Muslim women is protection. Something the West are very ignorant on. But Kate has tried to explain this but has failed miserably.

  • @islamia100 Protection from whom is the question you should ask?

  • @catbells69 Islam stresses the relationship between body and mind. In covering the body one shields the heart from impurities. Men are instructed to restrain or avert their eyes from women, and women are expected to wear loose outer garments and to cover their heads and bosoms.

  • @catbells69 The ultimate goal of veiling is righteousness of the heart. The purpose of hijab (veiling) in Islam is primarily to inspire modesty in both men and women. Women are admonished in the Holy Qur’an to cover their heads and to pull their coverings over their bosoms. Men are instructed in the Holy Qur’an to lower their gazes. For the women, the veil is protection from the gaze of men. Have a look at the rape rates in the Western world then compare this rate with the Arab/Muslim world.

  • @islamia100 Rubbish. The men should be covered for the same reasons. The West is secular. Rape rates have nothing to do with religion and little to do with sex. It's about power or control. Women in Muslim countries are controlled.

  • @islamia100 Sheikh Muhammad Sayyid Tantawy, previous dean of Al-Azhar University, called full-face veiling a custom that has nothing to do with the Islamic faith.

“The niqab is a cultural tradition and has nothing to do with Islam.”

  • @catbells69 You quoting Tantawy is enough for me to know how little you know about Islam.

  • @islamia100 There's no understanding paedophile worshippers.

  • @catbells69 May Allah guide you. Took you a while to get to the usual "Let's go down the pathetic route to end a discussion" Hmm is anyone capable of actually having an intelligent discussion who think's Islam is not the complete way of life? God knows best.

    .

  • @islamia100 It's a completely false religion. More of a misogynistic death cult really. Allah does not exist and Mohammed was an illiterate, greedy paedophile. Discuss that, you follower of idiocy.

  • @catbells69 You provide me with your evidence to show it's a false religion then i'll refute it ALL.

  • @islamia100 You try proving it is a worthy religion.

Does God approve of child brides? I doubt it. Effing paedophile lover!

  • @catbells69 "There's no understanding paedophile worshippers."

I can't understand people whom are proactive ignoramuses. I couldn't imagine meeting my death having lived with such an arrogant state of mind and being so pathetic.

  • @FriedChikkin That's a great summation of Muslims. *thumbs up*

  • @catbells69 Heil catbells!

  • @FriedChikkin Yes, Muslims did fight with Hitler and the Nazis. Islam is the new facist threat to the world.

  • @catbells69 Heil catbells!

  • @FriedChikkin Haj Amin Muhammad Al Husseini, the grand mufti of Jerusalem found the Nazis to be a strong ideological match with his anti-Jewish brand of Islam, and schemed with Hitler and the Nazi hierarchy to create a pro-Nazi pan-Arabic form of government in the Middle East.

  • You will then have your answer as to what the protection is from.

  • @catbells69 Would be Muslim rapists, like the ones in the UK preying on girls from troubled backgrounds. That is to say nothing of the Muslim mens with child brides. These men are rapists and paedophiles, just like Mohammed.

  • What is the name of the journalist? I would love to watch more documentaries like this, please???

  • @ClaudinaAizpuru her name is Kate Humble , she has another one called the spice trail

  • @ClaudinaAizpuru Claudia its gonna do you no good watching some sick biased haters like kate humble who showers their prejudice against others who are different. Why cant people just accept that someone is going to be different from them? This world was made to be different and diverse, forGod's sake please understand and respect that

  • @ClaudinaAizpuru This documentary is called the frankinsense trail, i've seen the full things, its AWESOME! You can watch it all on john locker dot com

  • this is so pathetic. as a niqaabi myself (& born and bred in the U.K), i find this so disrespectful. she knows nothing about womens rights in islam so she shouldnt be goin around criticizing arab culture OR islamic views and beliefs. only a muslim woman would understand the beauty of niqab. its the right of a muslim woman to cover up & no true muslimah is going around WANTING to expose themselves, its our right and our choice.. & does she really think we want her sympathy?! LOL funny woman!

  • This si so ridiculous. She made this an experience for her to hate. Uncomfortable? How is wearing a lightweight dress over her skimpy top and pants and then wearing a light hijab, Uncomfortable? Is she nuts? And the crying? I couldn't believe that! What for? She is wearing it for a story in Saudi, not going to jail. I hate these Brits who feel like anything that is not as "proper/upper crust" as they are, need to be taught the "English" way to not be heathens and be a part of society.

  • @ilovetheniqab She is simply not used to wearing it. I can imagine that it would feel slightly uncomfortable for her to wear so much extra over her clothing. And her clothing is NOT AT ALL skimpy. She said she was crying because she thought it was funny. simple as that.

  • @Equestriangirl199 Of course she's not used to wearing it; She's not Muslim. Kate is a super feminist and this is not her first docu on women of the Middle East. She has always held the view that we are oppressed women who need to be save from our men and our religion because we need to be liberated. She always makes her docu's as a "oh, those poor oppressed women, feel sorry for them" view. To her, even women who wear hijab are oppressed. She wanted to dislike this experience, so she did.

  • @ilovetheniqab she is from the us by the way ...

  • @ilovetheniqab Well said,thank you.

  • i hate this woman.. i watched her whole series and all she did was bitch about everything

  • oh Boy, the same old story, the Intolerant , hating feminists from the west traveling to the arab world, and criticizing its culture, way of life , instead of showing gratitude for their hospitality. Why cant you get this simple thing? Not everyone will be like you, do as you do, talk like you do , thats why we have different looking people, language, cultures, thats how the world runs, sorry guys. Please understand that Muslim women will not exchange their hijab or niqab for Victorias Secret.

  • @samichowdhury I know, sometimes the westerners make me so sick with their indifference, ignorance, and the need to force everyone to be like them. They keep going to the arab lands to steal and take, but come back backbiting them and complaining, oh but those spices, golds, incense, and oil is great. Then they say, don't bring your ignorance to my country, please MAN you been taking from the Arabs for CENTURIES. What is more ignorant, and the lack of hospitality. WHY do they go there.

  • @khaltubibi The British beats the Americans with their arrogance even though they no longer are the superpower

  • @khaltubibi You have to wonder why Muslims are colonising the West with no intention of obeying secular law. Lebensraum for the paedophile worshipping infidels. Islam is the new Nazism.

  • wait , this is the same women that cried hearing the athan rite ?? correct me if i'm wrong

  • @syedfaez yeah, that's her

  • @shitoky guess she is wrong bout saudis then .. lol

  • @syedfaez lmao, i know right! and when i saw her documentary, she was so disrespectful. there was one time she was saying along the lines of "oh i'm so happy i don't have to wear that abaya anymore" and the man replied in a stern voice "please remember where you are." i was so happy! and she put it on her self to wear such dull clothing. and the abaya doesn't look good without hijab imo

  • @syedfaez lmao, go to uhm.. youtube.com/watch?v=6kZaIDsW4ok 8:39 of that video is what i'm talking about

  • I'm a Muslimah born/raised in the USA & I know my freedom to wear what I want is precious. I don't show my spectacular body, it's mine & worthy of MY RESPECT first. Being judged by American "standards of beauty" is NOT fun & the most feminist thing a woman can do is to DENY the male gaze. Subhan'Allah!

  • Masha'Allah, the report if she only knew how lovely she really looks in hijab. And Alhumdulillah I don't wear niqaab because of make-up, I wear it because I want to!

  • is this country saudi arabia?

  • i've been wearing niqab for several years..its really comfortable when u wear a suitable kind of clothes that wont make u 'suffocate'.. i'm ok with niqab.. thank God i'm wearing it until now.. i dont want to lose this chance..i hope i can wear it even in my own country. God willing...

  • How could you compare mother terarisa and she did not wear Burqa unless you were nervous there to say something.

  • oh and btw , i live in europe...since like ever , but i dnt feel lucky to see naked women on the street. i actually feel disgusted.

  • "we are so lucky living in the west and not having to dress like these women" LOL .....you funny blond, i guess you feel yourself blessed to live in a country defined by prostitution ,nudity, drugs, etc. indeed you are lucky

  • @nuramalfathirahanwar Sorry sis, I didn't mean to insult you, and your ethnic.

  • I don't like how self righteous and condescending she is. "I can't believe what you women have to go through every day!"

Like the abaya and veil are some kind of torturous device. No one is "going through" anything. I don't see her complaining about Western countries forcing women not to wear the veil.

The least she could do is show a little respect and not laugh hysterically at herself in the shop just because she's wearing a veil.

  • @Aishahness Are you in denial my dear, or just not listening? The Yemini hostess said " please experience my suffering" when wrappying the other woman in the veil, so both women acknowledged that they find the covering to be oppressive. The English women also says later her tears were not only from laughter.

  • @msrockin

That doesn't mean the Yemeni hostess is right. Just because she's an Arab and she sees it as "suffering" doesn't give her any more credibility than the British woman laughing {and she was laughing; inside the shopkeeper's store no less...} at herself for wearing a veil.

  • @Aishahness This is precisely what is wrong with "you people."

You walk around with your beliefs on your sleeve ready to ram them down the throat of those that make even the most honest observations about it as a personal experience.

You have no sense of perspective, no sense of humor and what is the worst, no sense of irony.

  • @SatchmoSings

I'm not ready to ram my beliefs down anyone's throat. I merely wish to share them.

I, for one, wear a veil and I do not see it as oppression. What I found ridiculous was how insolent she was by laughing at the veil in the shopkeepers store. It's offensive and in poor taste. I'm not suggested the religious police break down the door and drag her away, but I can still say her laughing was uncalled for.

  • @Aishahness She was having an honest and very human reaction and your response is anger.

I stand by my original observation about you; you have no understanding let alone respect for people from MY culture; with you it's all "one way." (That means we Westeners have to have respect for you and your culture, but you don't have to do the same for us.) Fuck you, you miserable creep; this is precisely why much of the world hates Arabs; you're very typical.

  • @SatchmoSings

I have no reason to respect the aspects of Capitalist consumer culture that stem from the West, and exists in many parts of the world, including and unfortunately in Saudi Arabia. I, however, would not walk into a store and start laughing at the clothes in the store and ask the people inside "how they bare to go around dressed like this." It's insensitive.

  • @Aishahness A famous Western philosopher-thinker once said, "[People] think as they must."

This is precisely what you don't understand; what this woman thought of your clothes, in reality, doesn't hurt or help you one bit and as long as it doesn't, you should respect this. [Since you dragged in Western Consumerism, I will now, in another posting, make some points about the Arab world's point-of-view, or rather lack of it on a few things.]

Grow a thicker skin and mind your own business.

  • @SatchmoSings

I respect her right to freedom of speech and opinions, and with freedom of speech I have a right to say whatever I'd like about her conduct in the shop which I still think was distasteful and rude. Would you have called the shop keeper a misogynist if he told her to keep quiet? Would you respect his dislike of her behavior?

  • @Aishahness I think the shopkeeper was amused at this Westerner's reaction to the clothes; he sounds like a good guy with a sense of humor who doesn't take himself so seriously; if he emigrated to The West he'd be one Muslim/Arab we could honestly welcome; he'd be an asset here; his tolerance and warmth are obviously completely wasted on YOU.

  • @SatchmoSings

I thought this conversation was over, but I suppose not. Perhaps he was amused, but I was just giving you a scenario when I said "what if he had told her to keep quiet." I didn't necessarily say that is what he thought.

I do not see myself as intolerant. I am not intolerant of others. I am intolerant of economic systems/cultural elements created by said system that are destructive to the planet and the people living on it.

  • @SatchmoSings it's not about what she thought, its about how she let her emotions and thoughts over take her actions. She knew what she was walking into or else why would she even bother to go to a muslim country.

  • @khaltubibi Well, that's true enough, much as it is when Muslims come to The West, not just for a visit but to settle here permanently.

  • @Aishahness 02. Your country has been charging big money for petroleum since 1974, yet in that time The KSA has acquired no world-class schools or universities, no world-class cultural institutions and no world-class medical center.

Maybe this also explains your total inability to have a world-class outlook on other people's and cultures.

  • @SatchmoSings

I wish KSA did have more facilities. Unfortunately, capitalism corrupts many. Instead of spending on things that would help us grow as a society, we stunt ourselves with lavish shopping malls and fast food eateries. Does that sound familiar? It's a mirror of the West, and more specifically, the United States as Europe does invest more in important things like scientific research.

  • @SatchmoSings

Also, people hate Arabs only because their corporate television channels tell them to. A war is much easier to fight when you have dehumanized the supposed enemy and all who look like them.

  • @Aishahness People hate Arabs because you are totally intolerant of others; in your own kingdom you don't allow your foreign workers to have their own worship services and I don't have to have "corporate television" to tell me that.

I live in New York City and have met and worked with scores of Arabs (mostly Egyptians) who have reasonably assimilated at least a modicum of tolerance for others.

You, in a VERY cloistered existence, have nothing but anger for other cultures.

  • @SatchmoSings

I live in the Bronx, yet I don't see why I should assimilate completley to a culture that is not my own. Just because I live in an area doesn't mean I have to abandon the culture I prefer.

  • @Aishahness 02. Here's a terrific example of precisely what is so wrong with the Arab world and The KSA in particular:

    watch?v=tc9hIrxMngQ

  • @SatchmoSings

I don't see what an orchestra has to do with KSA.

  • @Aishahness I know you don't and that's precisely why you're so problematic, especially in light of my other observations about you and your own criticisms about The West.

Have a good day and keep enjoying your life; I know the Western woman in the video is enjoying hers.

PS, See my longer comment about what I had to say about that posting of that orchestra, particulary in regards to how some Chinese people picked up on some Western culture; maybe you too can learn something but I doubt it.

  • @SatchmoSings

I don't consider myself terrible at finding the insight in things, but seeing Chinese people play Western Music is not what I am talking about when I speak of the negative affects of consumer culture stemming from the West. The aspects of Western culture such as their art and many different philosophies as well as scientific knowledge is admirable. This description, however, fits Europe better than it does America, which is very backwards compared to the rest of the West.

  • @SatchmoSings

It's the cutthroat Capitalist system that is the problem. It is the social structure that I have disdain for.

  • @Aishahness I think it's time for this conversation to end; have a nice day!

    Nice to have met you!

  • @SatchmoSings

I agree, and the same to yourself.

  • @Aishahness 02. I said, "As a Westerner, I am admittedly very chauvinistic about the classical music tradition; that people from another culture, especially those so young, could pick up on it so idiomatically brings me tears of joy."

You see, unlike YOU, these teenaged girls from The Republic of China ENJOYED learning about and even PARTICIPATING IN something about Western Culture and not just "CONSUMERISM."

  • @SatchmoSings your ignorance assumes that all muslims are arab :-) I'm native american and my land was raped, terrorized and pillaged by "you people". BTW, what is YOUR culture? That's a laugh! Most of the people who want to change western culture are WESTERNERS, like myself. But culture has not to do with religion.

  • @SatchmoSings Actually, an honest observation is fine, except when it's insensitive, or baseless (such as when she said I'm going to saudia where very few women receive rights) comments, then it's no longer humorous. Why do people like to make fun at someone's religious beliefs? It is "you people" who are so curious, but you never search for facts, you just like to watch these highly educated yet ignorant random people who go to these countries and make haphazard remarks on their perspective.

  • @msrockin suffering isnt the same as oppression. If it's 110 degrees outside, but business men still go to work in a full suit everyday, is that oppression? Anyone that says niqab isn't hot in 100 degree weather at first is a liar. What you people keep missing, is you think that because we wear it, we are oppressed or forced, you people refuse to realize we wear it to please Allah because he commands us to. Such as your job might command you to wear a suit, or tie, or uniform.

  • @msrockin Are nuns oppressed? was Mary, mother of Jesus (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) oppressed? I know so many women who's husband, fathers, brothers, mothers, relatives (people they love and care what they think) insist they dont wear hijab, and these women insist on wearing it for the pleasure of Allah, do you really think we care what you think? If 1 arab woman says shes oppressed, you'll find another 1000 who would never leave their life, rights, lifestyles, islam, or niqab.

  • @Aishahness I KNOW, like I can't believe that western women are forced to send their babies child care and go right back to work, I can't believe western women have to go through the government to get their ex-man to take care of their bastard children, I can't believe western women are expected to have perfect bodies rather than be educated, I can't believe that their men beat them all the time but they either have to take it or risk losing their lives, I can't believe people get raped regular.

  • I wore the niqab once to try it out and I couldnt beathe in it.

  • is she serious so women who wear less to be found attractive have a better life yeah right give me all black anyday

  • "at least we dont get treated like meat by men!!" No, you're thought of as backward fools by both men and women in the West. And if you think that the West is so bad, perhaps you should go live in a 'burka happy' country like Afghanistan, where the Burka is mandatory. Where women are treated as 'meat'. However, I have a feeling these comments are censored anyway, so...

  • @nuramalfathirahanwar Sister : Be extremely thanful to God (Almighty Allah ) to have realized the difference between the propganda and the reality. May Allah bless you and your family.

  • Astagfirullah that Yemeni woman say that she suffer when she wear Niqab.

May Allah (Subhana wa Ta'ala) guide her for the right Path. Ameen

  • this reinforces the fact that people laugh at Muslims...
