  • Blagojevich's real crime, I think, is is that haircut.

  • If the democrats had any values they would have voted Nater. TRUTH not lies

  • Blago was dealing with foul-mouthed Rahm. Rahm is notorious for speaking like that. I suspect that it is Rahm who cussed up a storm when Blago refused to be bribed by AIPAC money to pick Schakowsky for the seat.

  • If the politicians are this dumb in America what does it say about the people themselves in America?

  • makes me wonder, what other governors and senators are doing things like this.

  • I'm confused!

So is my bid for this senate seat no good anymore?

Who will be taking the new bids? I really want to buy this senate seat. I will throw in two weeks at my time share in Maui if that will get things moving in the way I would like.

  • Jay Leno said years ago when asked about his party affiliation, "Neither one..everytime I start feeling like a Republican, they do something greedy, and everytime I start feeling like a Democrat, they do something stupid." Well, Blagojevich the Democrat did many things both greedy and incredibly stupid. Hopefully he will join his Republican predecessor in prison on similar charges. Mark Twain said that in America, we have the finest government money can buy. No changes since the gilded era.

  • Thank God...its about time, Rod, has been raping this City for years.

He has no REMORSE, I hope they give him Full sentencing and no good behavior.

He can share a cell with George Ryan.

  • jones105639 Thank you!! I stand corrected. Was not really sure about Illinois, but New England I think my issue still stands.

  • Don't know about new england, but here in the land of corrupt politicians, everyone has to work with what we call "the machine". Yep, of all the United States, ours is the one with a political system that most resembles a third world dictatorship. Doesn't matter if you are democrat, republican, green party or whatever. My Girlfriend is from Taxachusetts, she might know more about that.

  • That's unfortunate. It's too bad, is was just there on a three day business trip; seemed like a nice city (Chicago) I guess the rest of the state is like New England. People in general really need to wake up and become more active in civic matters. Mainly electing quality people. That's a start. It seems accountability in the U.S. is a scarce commodity. I just can't manage my life like that?

  • "Mainly electing quality people" Actually, we've tried that, but dirty money is like engine oil in the political machine. If you dont throw any around, you may look squeekey clean, but the machine cezes up. basically we just vote against whoever is in office and replace them with someone equally corrupt. party nominations probibly involve bribes. Blagojevitch has talked about spending lots of money so that he'll win a third term despite a 13% approval rating (sounds to me like he'll rig it).

  • Come on!! too cynical. Your fellow Illini need to wake up. No lobbyists? Full IRS disclosure on campaign finance. Investigate the Investigators? Audit the Audtiors and in a expeditious manner. Needs to happen all over the Northeast. I can't wait to move out of NY. Take my money and move out; three more years. Patterson and Bloomberg both Stink.

  • Peter Fitzgerald can only do so much. I love my state and my city. Moving out wont fix it. Nothing short of armed revolt will change things and we don't really trust that even then the guys who end up in power won't be corrupt too. If we revolted, then we'd REALLY be just like an african country wouldn't we? You also have to understand, that there is blue chicago and the rest of the state is red. Th ered part resents chicago. Maybe chicago should become the 51rst state?

  • As for me, I love chicago, hate the way things are run, but its part of our tradition our heritage. We get riled up about it, but in general accept it as a fact of life. With blagojevitch's approval ratings at 13% as of october, were all dancing in the streets over here. The only way you can live here is if you have a good sense of humor, and a decent bottle of champaign at the ready for when corrupt officals get nabbed.

  • jones,

When will we be able to drink champagne about Obama? It should be clear to everyone now why he only makes calls through his personal cellphone. When will we hear that his calls are being heard and that he is arrested too?

  • take note...the fbi have been tapping and investigating Blagojevich for what...a year or so.....but they didn't drop the bomb until the day after he threatened to stop doing any state business with bank of america.....coincidence...no.

  • This is what I came on here to say. Thanks for that. The FBI has something on every politician. Blagojevich was 'Spitzered'.

  • Exactly. Spitzer knew too much about AIG and their involvement in 9/11. Rod just yesterday was talking about taking on Bank of America. you cannot take on the banksters.

  • Illinois what a joke!!! Just like Ct,Ma,Vt,NH,RI and of course corrupt NY. Try to educate yourself on scandals over the past 20 plus years and take a good HARD Look at the party involved in these states? A statistical improb? I think not. Republicans have been involved in scandals; YES!! But not in these states. If your going to respond show me a Repub, date and the scandal. Good luck liars!!!

  • "Republicans have been involved in scandals; YES!! But not in these states"

George Ryan Republican Governor of Illinois 1999-2003, currently serving jail time for giving out truck driving licenses in exchange for bribes. The scandal is known as the "license for bribes scandal" Look it up in google, youtube, or wikipedia.

  • So does this mean it's too late to bid on the senate seat?

  • No, just send your money to Pat Quinn.

  • Lol...didn't you hear? Blagojevich is out on bail and he fully intends to appoint Obama's replacement. I guess he needs the money for a good lawyer.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • I am embarrased of the behavior of my State's gobernment but I hope thi will bring much better times to my beloved ILLINOIS!!

  • This is pathetic, I'm embarrassed.

But thanks for getting videos on the web, SJR! Good work! I liked this video.
