I have a friend who's looking into this... She's a little worried about the insurance so I was wondering how much they typically cover from the operation ($6-10 grand total)?
hi this has reassured me a bit. I have MS and i am a 32 JJ and getting a reduction in a few weeks the panic is setting in and doubts are entering my mind but more so if it will trigger my ms off .
I'm an uncomfortable F cup and have bad posture due to constantly slouching from the weight of my bust. My mother and I are looking into getting me a reduction next year.
Watching these videos helps me understand what I will go through when the time comes.
I had this done in 2005 and it was not painful and the scars are pretty much gone. It was covered by insurance, I think paid $748.00...... I was a 44F and now am 44C, the Dr. took out 6 lbs of tissue. It was the best thing I have done for myself.
@jennypenny1973 I am considering have this surgery done, can you tell me a little about your recovery experience. I am really nervous...If you would rather inbox me, that's cool too. :)
this is something i look foward to doing my self. im 5 ft n 2in tall have 4 children and i wear a bra size 38 double Ds my back hurts . need more info ........how is the proscess when u come out of the hospital.?
do u think insurance will cover going from a 34D to a 34B for someone who is 5'6 123lbs? 26 inch waist and 34 inch hips so not outta shape but do u think the bust is too big for my frame??
@trufiend138 I'm a surgical nurse who has had a breast reduction and I have worked with many plastic surgeon in the OR and in office. A plastic surgeons mission is to ultimately help the patient look and feel better about themself through plastic surgery whether it is medically necessary or not. A breast reduction in many cases is medically necessary and in those cases insurance will most likely cover it. The dr is supposed to help their patients not judge like it seems that you would.
I had a breast reduction a year ago. I swear it was the best thing that I have ever done! The recovery time was not bad at all, I was back to work in about two weeks and the scars really aren't that bad. I would recommend it to anyone who has large breast that cause pain and that can not be reduced from weight loss. I was a 36 G and went down to a 36 D on a 5ft 2in frame it was such a relief!
I HAVE TO GET A BREAST REDUCTION AND IM 16 IM SCARED AS HELL LIKE HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECOVER IM HELLA SCARED THT I WONT WAKE UP OR THEY'RE GOIN TO MESS SUMTHIN UP
SURGERY (BREAST REDUCTION) can be a great choice! The most important thing is to find a surgeon that is qualified, experienced and that you feel comfortable with. The other important decision is making sure this is what you want. Also, I think it helps to wait until they stop growing. You are trading scars for perkier and better shaped boobs. Surgery can help with the pain and discomfort associated with large breasts. It can be a great decision, just make sure you are ready.
@zylcho I don't know where you got your information but it's from an old wives tale. i know hundreds of women - myself included - who recovered beautifully (and nursed) after the MOST COMMON surgery women have internationally... do some homework... breasthealthonline
My boyfriend is actually very supportive and he's even coming with me to the hospital where I'm getting my reduction. =) He like my 30G, but I think he will prefer 30C. XDDD
I had this done when I was 15 (I am now 17). Best decision I have ever made. True, I still have scars, but they are greatly fading, it was all worth it. I do gotta say, it's terrifying seeing what they did to me...
@prettyfpixie I got my consultation on dec. 16th.. My insurance company made their decision before the new year.. I chose the date.. I did have some complications after surgery due to me not listening to the doctor when he told me not to do ANYTHING... So i did have a minor set back... but I am doing well now.. I have been off of work for a month and a half and my plastic surgeon just extended me to be off another two months..
@pearlycharm Something you just have to live with no one can see them in a swin suit or low cut dress or anything just you and anyone else seeing you naked!
well im a 48ddd and im getting mine done on april,6th im nt scared im more axnious than anything my dr. will be removing 3.5 frm each breast thats 1000.grams. ooh...thanks to god i will also be sleeping threw it all.
I'm having my BR on Monday (3/29). Getting nervous now that it's 3 days away, but will be glad to be rid of the back pain. Going from 36DD to a B cup. I'll finally, after 30 years, have "athletic boobs" to match my athletic body!
actually to the ladies who are like1-2 yrs post op.... how are your scars now? please let me know, just curiosity i know all women heal differently...
im getting mines 3/2/10 and im only 16 and i have DDD and it hurts my back really bad sooo funny my cousin were saying no we cant call you big boobs no more they used to have so many jokes l0l
I had a breast reduction when I was 17..and Its not painful. More like discomfort. The Dr actually told me women who get breast implants feel pain Vs the women getting a reduction. I was just out of it ..lol plus I had pain pills so I dont remember being in pain.
I actually had my breast reduction yesterday. My breast were a 32DDD and my waist is a 22 1/2. I went down to a full C. Recovering hasn't been as bad as I had expected just a little uncomfortable. But, my back pain is gone and I am so excited to actually see them without the dressing and gauze. Best decision I have ever made.
@03Itsofficial03 - I just had the surgery yesterday (2/24/10) and went fm a 38 F to a 36 (small) D. Its too soon for me to give you scarring info but I'm in a lot of pain...and I have a high tolerance for pain. I got Percocet for the pain and it comes fm the liposuction my surgeon did around the sides of my ribcage. I already feel relief off my back and shoulder. I'd do it again.
I had this done 3 years ago.Its not as bad as it looks beleive me.I had no pain just slight discomfort. I am so pleased with them now. Totaly changed my life
im getting this done on april 6th, watching this video has scared the crap out of me. i think im getting this technique done too. 1.7lbs are being removed.
im 4 days post op, it is not as bad as it seems it has been the best thing i have ever done with my life, totally worth it. the video does look a bit harsh but you need to see this as this is part of how its done! welll done for posting the vid there should be more. i hd 4lbs removed of both my breasts. thank you.
