Now it's all high density housing. There is no more room left for low density suburban sprawl. They are using the infill practice.

When a piece of land becomes available (which almost always had an older building(s) on it) they are building usually 3 to 6 story (or taller) residential complexes consisting of condos or townhouses. They are usually massive developments which occupy whole city blocks. Soon our population density will be near that of Los Angeles (unfortunately).

The Silicon valley has been paved over for low density suburban sprawl, including the 1 story corporate campuses thrown out by computer companies and the thirsty lawns which surround them.
