Marriages are meant to honor God (He's the One Who instituted it) not self. If we try to fashion marriage after our own desires and ideas instead of seeking God's purpose for it, we end up worshipping the creature rather than the Creator. That is idolatry and pride, ruining people and marriages. Wives have to guard against exhalting self just as much as any man. Praise God our lives can be hidden in Christ! Phillipians 2:3-11 has greatly helped me understand my role as a wife. Submission is humility. No woman has humbled herself through submitting to her husband any more than what Jesus did toward God the Father. He being equal with God did not consider it something to hold on to, but did lay that aside and humbled Himself. He was found clothed in human form and even submitted to death. Why? -to do the will of the Father, freeing rebellious men and women from sin, like pride. Be like Jesus.

We are friends with several couples with the woman having repented of her feminism and are now both submitting to God's plan and His will for their lives. They are content and happy. Christ's peace.
Ok...I'm confused; women are no less than men. I know that my God would NOT create one lesser then the other. I understand it this way, men and women need to work TOGETHER as an EQUAL team. There should be no "man of the house" there should be "the man and women" of the house. The man should not be the leader nor the women, it should be equal.
