  • nice set up and great nu disco mini mix! more please

  • @danslefloor Thank you, thank you. More to come soon. In the meantime, you can find some of my longer mixes on SoundCloud :)

  • I definitely liked it a lot.

But it looks like you have the bass EQ knob all the way up and I kinda was under the impression that it's ill-advised to turn that all the way up as it kind of overwhelms all the other frequencies.

  • @BendyStraw52 Thanks so much for watching. You are 100% right about the low EQ knob. I had no idea at that time as it didn't sound overwhelming in my cheap speakers back then :)

  • Fan-fucking-tastic! :D

  • @Derangedteddy Thanks, man! Very happy you enjoyed it :)

  • Best minimix ive heard so far.

  • @galganaban Thanks, man! Nu disco, french house and all that are fantastic genres :)

  • @nan00q Yeah I love it all! Well.. except for dubstep. but Im just starting to get into djing and Im probably going to get the Pioneer DDJ-S1 which is basically a baby version of what you have there :)

  • @morennodj Thank you, Morenno :)

  • The execution isn't to hard but amazing work on the planning your mix and choosing the tunes..

Those KRK RP6 G2 are a great pick for there price as well ;)

  • @DJRoksor I mean KRK RP8.. or are it other monitors?

  • @DJRoksor Thanks, Roksor :) Very nice comment... The monitors are actually a cheap pair of Sony speakers... They are ok for bedroom use :)

  • 2:10 is absolut love !

  • @waadful merci :)

  • adam menace - rock da shit pleasseee mp3 ¡¡¡ free

  • You are a very good DJ, and have obviously put a lot of thought into this set and have the execution to pull it off. My question is I play a lot of old school disco, funk and hip hop. I also have a fair bit of electro and nu disco tunes, but my question is where do you keep up-to-date with the particular genre, are there any good blogs you would recommend? Other than Too Many Sebastians, which are good but not enough for me hahaha

  • @Jamehij86 Thank you for listening and commenting :) As far as keeping up-to-date, I follow a bunch of labels and crawl through new arrivals in the on-line music stores. Also, listening to other DJs and following their charts is sometimes helpful, too :)

  • @Jamehij86 There is a cool nu disco/french house blog called "les petits bruits" otherwise you can listen to dj's like Louis La Roche, Breakbot, LBCK, Eumig&chinon, Treasure Fingers, The Phantom's Revenge, Viceroy...

  • @romain4p I listen to most of those artists already, but its those rare new artists that have one banging track to date that you can only finnd via blogs normally. But thanks buddy :)

  • @romain4p That blog is legit, Bastille's ftw.

  • @romain4p For some reason, I did not see your comment. Thanks so much for this! I will definitely visit!

  • Your a pretty good DJ, I love this genre of music, it's so good and came here after I heard Kylie Minogue "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" according to wiki it was like a nu-disco kind of sound which I've heard of nu-jazz and it's like a mix of house and jazz music which is really good music.

  • @TxmxthyJS7868 Thanks for the comment. Glad you liked the selection :)

  • Very good Mix! I'm trying to make my own Nu Disco mix as well, but it isn't going very easy. Do you have any tips for mixing Nu Disco?

  • @ArubaKamba Thanks, man. I know what you're talking about. Nu disco and french house can be very challenging to work with. As far as tips, don't be afraid to be creative. Experiment, play around and eventually, it will all start coming together. Good luck!

  • Really nice transfer from Toecutter to The Young Punx. :)

  • @erikik Thanks, Erik :)

  • good.

  • @silentscratch thanks :)

  • nice work! im from peru and over here we dont get this kind of music...i'll love to bring these soundstracks for a lot of parties :D salut! keep it going :D

  • I know nothing about this DJ stuff but it looks damn impressive and sounds sooo funky!!

  • @luboshh Thanks, lubosh! Glad you enjoyed :)

  • feito

  • at least not all of it

  • Ok, this ain't nu disco.

  • @Wiederspringer This is more of a French House, I guess, but when I purchased these tracks, they were all in the Nu Disco category...

  • Your good at mixing but you need to learn how to eq and set the gain.

  • this is soooooo goood!!

  • Xinobi is one of the best nu-disco artists! him and Moullinex!

  • fucking master, you got skills man

  • @lltjekmeoutll thanks, man :)

  • cant believe i have not seen this one. I love Nu Disco. I played the Xinobi - Day Off, tune at RockNess this year. Favourite of mine.

Still have not seen anybody whos mixes i find more creative on you tube than yours. Keep up the remixes too, i will expect to see your name on beatport soon

  • @L14MGO Thanks, Liam :) I love this genre, though it can be very challenging at times. I hope to come up with new mix soon, but I don't think I can top this one :) Hope you upload something soon as well.

  • Near perfection. Starting to get into this genre but it's pretty hit and miss. All the tracks you chose were hits though and you worked them in so beautifully.

  • @fatbloke26 Thank you :)

  • Very good vibes mate, keep it up !

  • this is a great mix :@)

If you want promos drop me a line.

  • Keep up the good work man. Mix is pretty sick. Can you by chance reccomend some Nu Disco artists for me to look up? I recently found the young punx and a few others off Hed Kandi Nu Disco 2010.

  • @siucsaluki11 Thanks, man :) I don't follow nu disco that closely, but my favorite labels from this category are Mofo Hifi Records and Kitsune :)

  • @DeanSlevin1 Thanks for stopping by :)

  • congrats on 2nd place! this is a hella great set well done..thanks for the comment

  • nice, like it :)

  • @StaffRecordPlayer Thank you, sir! Congrats to the 1st place :))

  • loved this mix, gen nu disco his awesome, but true about it being tough to work with!

  • Great Mix!

  • I noticed you max out allmost all your equalizer controls (low/mid/high) on the mixer. Even though I didn't really hear this in the recording, I find it better to leave them in the middle and have more room for correction both down AND up. Nice mix!

  • @sjorsmiltenburg Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I've been maxing out the lows and keeping the mids and highs in the 2 o'clock position in most of my mixes. When I keep the lows in the middle, though, it feels like I'm losing the depth in that frequency range. I'll record my next mix with your tip in mind. :)

  • I think this might be because of the sound you are hearing. Speakers with bigger base and more range will let you hear it as it should be.

  • @markogiani Thanks! Yeah, it might be because of the speakers...

  • I want Ur equipment... my little controller sucks

  • Nice mixing man! No doubt this one belongs in the top-10! If not top-3! Love it!

  • Wow, AWESOME! This genre is really hard to work with, as you mentioned yourself. I love what you did with it. Really worthy of first place in my opinion. If you're going to Paris, drop by in Utrecht, the Netherlands ;) Just a 5 hour trip :P

    Cheers mate!

  • @thijsvanhasselt I got back from Paris already :( Thanks for your feedback, though! I'm glad you liked the mix :)

  • great 10minmix really dancing songs & nice set up btw from gemini (or smthing like that)all the way to pioneer....nice use of cues too

will download some of these songs too LeAndre for sure :)

and if its about paris :) daft punk should of been here on the list :D

    keep up the good work

  • @MarkoRa87 Thanks so much! :) True, Daft Punk is missing, but I bet all these producers got a fair share of influence from the robots :D

  • nice mix! especially the first one. Totaly awesome the way you did that! I wish I was that skilful with my hotcues! Goodluck in the comp. I guess you end up higher than me :P

  • @DJEtack Thanks for watching! Hot cues are not that difficult to work with on cdj1000s because you can set them up with surgical precision up front... One way or another, I would probably not rely on hot cues that much in a live set :) Good luck in the comp!

  • Loved this mix! 10 from me!

  • @llucos100 thanks so much :)

  • AWESOME DUDE !!! I see that Hadox & myself could influence you with The New French Touch! Really great work... you might wanna check out our new project:

BOOM le CHOC you can find it on facebook.

    I'll stay tuned, bro

  • @TomAssHamburg Thanks for the comment, man! Yeah, this mix was definitely influenced by you guys! I just became a fan of Boom Le Choc :) I look forward to getting inspired :D

  • this was great man.. i would love to see what you can do with some electro house..

  • Thanks for stopping by, man! I'll work on some electro ;)

  • What a great mix, because everything is just right, very good!!!

    5*

  • @mikro1973 Thanks for listening! :)

  • My GOD! That build-up that begin around 2:11 is so wonderful, rewinded a couple of times to hear it!x) Great mix overall to and love how you always jam the bass eq to the bottom!:D

    5* from Averna:)

  • Thanks for the nice feedback :) I'm glad you liked 2:11 because I was not very sure about that part at first!
