We had one of these in the late 60's. Had a piece of I beam bolted on for a front bumper. Used it to plow down medium sized birch trees in a mining area of northeast Pa. Two tranny's in low gear would push most anything. Brings back early teen memories.
The reason your engine keeps stalling is you are running with the spark retarded. Pull it down after you start it, and it will run better. If it doesn't, your timing is wrong. Also, that is indeed a Model A engine, not a Fordson tractor. There are a lot of non- Model-A parts on it, the headlights for one.
I remember our old 'A' Doodlebug, two gearboxes, big truck rear. Dad built a snowplow, lift made from steering box with 360 rotation. He later built a second tractor, I grew up with our "new" Farmall Regular built in late 20's I used to clamp my thighs around the big wheel to keep from losing it. Dad added hydraulics/ starter/ lights. He, and them, all gone now. Myself--swapping Toyota 20R into Oliver/ Cletrac Oc??
The Model a ford was used for many things not just as a car but tractors, sawmills all kinds of things , times were hard but people got by with there street smarts. Great video!!!!

Further details. That is a 1930 radiator shell and hood, and the bumper is not Ford. The frame is Ford. Nice doodle!
