athearn products marked up 150% for the ready to run vs. blue box kit. i cannot afford this hobby anymore...nice way to drive away people from the hobby.

Do you realize that the Ready to Run products from Athearn run smoother, have much more detail, and overall opperated and look more realistic that bluebox. you should expect them to cost more. If you want a great project locomotive, do what i do, buy the Athearn Blue Boxes.

I like it, great detail. I have been having some speed problems with it while using DCC, but on DC its fine. I think the DCC problem might just be me needing to get a power booster.

wat is the difference between DC and DCC, im a beginner

DC is your regular type of running trains, no matter how many locos you have on the track, theyll all go the same speed in the same direction. DCC is when you can run any loco independently, i have a video on DCC calle "my new NCE power cab"

i think the problem with the speed is the sparks coming of the wheels that can effect the speed ether that or you the momentum switch turned on

the wheels, were cleaned right after the video was shot, the problem was that there was simply not enough power flowing to the outside main line, i have fixed the problem.

the good old SD60 the locomotive that put GM kinda back on train in the locomotive market Conrail had both the standard cab and the wide cab SD60Ms their Junita shops in Altoona, PA build half of the SD60Ms because GM cound not build them as fast as Conrail wanted
