  • From beginning to the end they coudn´t find a common groove. Awful.

  • all kinds of talent on that stage, but it's the killer that steals the show. good stuff..

  • keith is rock

  • chUck berry with a FENDER!!!!!!!!1

  • @jazzy2blue SRV with a GIBSON!!!!

  • Perhaps the elements were there old countries but it took guys like W.C. Handy, Robert Johnson, Paul Whitefield, Scott Joplin, et. al. to put it all together in ways that were never done before to make musical genres that are Uniquely AMERICAN in origin --and THIS is the undisputed historical FACT. And for one to say --"...(& I don't think native "red Indian" Americans had much of an influence on music). "-- obviously shows they never heard Charlie Paker performing "Chekokee".

  • It looks like Chuck and Jerry have patched up their differences (hopefully).

  • @SlashManEXE They never really had major differences (indeed, they jammed on stage in Paris in 1973). Forget the "burning the piano" myth - it never happened.

  • @ChasNDaveVideos Yeah, there were too many inconsistancies with that story. Though Jerry said that they did clash when they first met, only to become friends immediately after.

  • when jerry lee lewis and chuck berry are going to heaven i hope that the good lord have enough space because the heavenwill be shaking they gonna rock there yeah

  • Fun to watch! I see Ray Charles at the very beginning. Paul Shaffer, Will Lee on bass and David Sanborn? on sax, all from Letterman's band. Is that Neil Young rather than SRV?

  • @clipsandtrailers

never seen srv player lp so it cant be

  • STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN????

  • great...best....best....keith!!!

  • It can't be denied that the US has contributed in a huge way to music albeit the roots undoubtedly lie elsewhere. In fact it's the most positive contribution the US has made.We could do with a few more things like that rather than some of the more doubtful aspects. Buffy St Marie is Native American and her music reflects it; some of it's like Rock with a wild ethnic sound; she writes smooth stuff too like Until It's Time For You To Go which Elvis did. But this illustrates the idea of influences.

  • this video is a perfect example of why all-star jams should never occur...

  • @beeroosterm Exactly. What a f***ing mess.

  • I actually didn't recognise chuck without his massive red Gibson. Such a ledgend

  • keith richards.

  • @clfetter Very observant.

  • Everybody happy - and in his best suit.

Best dressed man - without doubt - is Keef. Just have a look at 2:00 - 2:10 !

  • Everyone knows all(good) music was born in the good ol U.S.

  • I've NEVER seen Chuck Berry even hold a Fender before.

  • Is Steve Ray Vaughan who play the les paul?

  • @Liquit31

    Neil Young

  • good grief, how many guitars do they have?

  • Berry and a strat! :D

  • @lordduckstraw very rare to see

  • This is Rock & Roll !!

  • if it wernt for the white man, black people would have nothing to complain about, so no blues

  • chuck is the best one there.

did the others have sex with the stage equipment- i think not.

  • where i can download this?? plissss

  • @rickbluespower You can buy it on official DVD.

  • Keith is the only guitarist on stage who isnt sucking up to Chuck! Pretty cool :)

  • @RiffChris thats right .....although I like he holds back

  • @dkstryker You can find the full 38 minute performances on bootleg DVD (in black & white only) via myself (I'm Peterdchecksfield, this is my other account), message me privately with your trade lists. However the top quality colour excerpt is only available via an expensive multi DVD various artists boxset (just google Rock & Roll Hall of Fame DVD & you'll find it!).

  • holly molly what a line up!

  • really, whats up with the sound guy? could've done better on that

  • holy shit! chuck berry with a strat

  • The only time you'll ever see Chuck Berry playing a Strat. : )

  • @NightGallery yeah!! :-D

  • This is the first time I see Chuck Berry with a Fender Stratocaster...

  • @AnnibShela Leads me to believe he showed up not intending to perform ie: no guitar, and someone had to spot him one.

  • I think all music started in the U.S. Ragtime, Jazz, Boogie Woogie, Country, Rock and Roll, Blues, Rap, My goodness what a legacy.

  • @1pick2sticks There was music long before that in Europe & Africa, etc.

  • @peterdchecksfield

Yeah, Classical. But what has England or Europe done since? Skiffel?

  • @1pick2sticks My point is that the roots of most "American" music can be traced back to other countries. For example the bluegrass & country songs that The Everly Brothers grew up with are often of Scottish & Irish origin; the cajun & zydeco of Louisiana can be traced back to France; & the primal rhythms of Bo Diddley & John Lee Hooker aren't that far removed from those in Africa. As for us in England, we added our own home-grown influences such as "music hall" to Americans rock (& roll) etc..

  • @peterdchecksfield ...which is why Lonnie Donegan, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones & all the other 50s & 60s (UK) greats came up with something a little different to what the Americans did, & then influenced worldwide of course. So to say that non-classical music only started in America is over-symplifying things (& I don't think native "red Indian" Americans had much of an influence on music).

  • @peterdchecksfield : Redbone ? A truly GREAT Native American Band.

  • @peterdchecksfield

It just proves that the U.S.A. is the Melting pot of the Earth. Wasn't putting down Skiffel. We all know if there was no Beethoven, or Mozart, there would be no Rock. I was just stating that everything BIG came from here. A very unique century. Things have slowed down, and aren't exiting anymore. It seem we've been re-hashing the same stuff for years now. I think rap is starting to fall into the same situation as it has been around for 25+ years now.

  • @peterdchecksfield

    Rock= American

    Jazz=  American

    Blues= American

As far as I'm concerned there is no other music!

  • @timothyh71 America is a whole continent sir.. you always people from the US think you are the center of the whole universe.... and just so you know, blues is founded in african music.. or where do you think all the black people came from... cheers

  • @thesickness619

Quick music history lesson. The origins of the blues date back to post slavery in the deep south. It comes from a mixture of African American gospel spirituals, and country music. Sure you can trace some of the methods like call and response from Africa and some of the style from Europe but its as AMERICAN as it gets. America is the center when it comes to Rock, Jazz, Blues. Hip Hop, Country, and Pop. If you're from Europe we thank you for classical, punk& the Beatles.

  • @1pick2sticks Actually, they say the Blues is the only genre that purely originated from America.

    Everything else is from travellers.

  • @dvdsmlprstylr JAZZ. And that is an accepted FACT by even the staunchest European musicologists.

  • @RoughBoy1056 Actually, that's blues, but anyway, I meant the dude in the hat at 0:26 - is he SRV?

  • @dvdsmlprstylr and playing a gibson les paul!

  • @dvdsmlprstylr Rock n Roll*

  • @1pick2sticks also the US have a good chunk of it you should push further east......o:)

  • @1pick2sticks They say that Blues is the only genre 100% native to America (apart from Native American music of course.)

  • Is that Neil Young?

  • muy muy bueno...very good...son unos maestros...

  • lol 3:10

poor Don Everly, looks like he feels left out, get him to sing at least!

  • Where's Little Richard?

  • I believe thats Billy Joel on the other piano.

  • I am a HUGE Jerry Lee Lewis fan, but I must say he was very overpowering here. No one could take him down! I wish he would've at least given Chuck Berry a better chance, let alone Ray Charles, hardly even even seen in the back there. Stevie Ray Vaughan too. I think Mick Jagger was there. I never heard that other piano. As far as guitar, the only one who was able to come through in the mix was Keith Richards.

  • Este video es una joya!!!!! Chuck Berry eres el REY DEL ROCK AND ROLL!!! TUS CANCIONES NUNCA MORIRAN SON LOS HIMNOS DEL ROCK!!
