Hey bro nice ride. I got a question for you, have you ever had any problem with the torque lock up? My '88 Caprice Brougham engages for a few miles then it disengages. I'm losing a few MPG because of this. Tranny fluid is where it is supposed to be. It seems that it doesn't run on vacuum like my '85 and is electronic. Transmission shifts through all the gears fine but the lock up isn't working and its got me baffled. Just wondering if you know what it could be.
i've had a 2 door caprice and also an estate wagon. these are excellent cars. i really like the brougham models like what you picked up. that will be a great project to fix up. looks really solid.

@mkpctv oh wow so its really gone this time? You know, my 83 is leaking really bad inside too. The rust is in the WORST areas and almost impossible to fix. Im gunna swap out the engine and interior into my other caprice i picked up since its body is solid.
@killestboy I put it in myself. It cost almost $2000 for a shop to do it that a low price too!! It was a good learning experience for me that's for sure!! I enjoyed every minute of it too!!!
@killestboy Well I'm taking Auto Trans in college so I pulled it out right there and put in in class as well. But when I went to Pick N Pull I had to do it myself which wasn't a challenge just took time!!
@sniperguy1995 You know what man, you just gotta look!! Just look in all the nooks and crannies in your area and you are sure to find something like I did. Trust me, this wasn't easy!!

i don t have caprice or fleewood brough or iroc trans am.mi parents have 1998 opel corca.same to caprice i wax polish to much.wash it evry week for 13 years use to much soap..imagen a caprice or iroc
Sounds like the transmission in my 1983 BUICK. Did u wax the 89...looks really clean! And that was Hekka funny when u said "hold ur pants on" LOL. I can certainly vouch for the fact that it rides and runs VERY VERY smooth as i found out last week. And sounds like the past owner was a real genuiiiiine douche nozzle! LaTeRz, -BOGAR!
