Though it seems selfish, its true just working hard in school to better yourself is how you serve yourself and giving back what you learned to those who want it, is the serving others part.
Also, often times people have a hard time distinguishing competition with self fullfillment and working hard, but its about realizing what is natural and what doesn't have rules or regulations only to improve yourself from within! Anyone could do it and it starts within because you have to serve yourself before you can serve others!
we're not idiots for knowing that any aspect of competition is completely contradicting the sanctity of this practice! That man is wrong! A medal doesn't prove shit, it just fills your head with nonesense and false pride! If your in it to compete with yourself or others, your not in it for the right reasons!
If yoga is simply a physical actions than I can see why there can be awards and medals. But the meditative element gets missed when you make some people winners over others. Would you have a meditation competition?

Hey John Philip-
Yoga
It's unity of mind and body...get it?
That's where it starts
All the intentions of your subjects should've been portrayed in context of that.
It's the true and obvious meaning of yoga.
When you try to exploit exploitation you seriously need to look in the mirror.
