I remember this ad on TV, so I went out and bought the game then realised my crappy computer couldn't handle it. Was one and a half bloody years before I got one that could play it.
@boosie007666 I'm italian and, so, i cannot see UK channels (except BBC News). But there was a topic on LOTRO forum about this commercial and channels, times and so on. But it's very, very old.
They need to start advertising more in the US. It's the only way they even have a chance of pushing against WoW. Anyone who enjoys this game should enjoy it more than WoW: better community, less drama, better story, and hobbits > gnomes :P.
Bioware beat Blizzard once, and soon they will again :) Baldur's Gate vs Diablo = Great RPG vs Hack&Slash action and now, a decade later we get TOR vs WoW, and from the sound of it it will be a new beginning for MMO's. If someone can pull it off its Bioware, the giant of RPG making. Blizzard was always sub-par that ground and it's about time someone competent took over the title of the best MMO*RPG*. I stress the RPG part. Storytelling, character interaction, depth. I really hope they succeed.
WoW win becouse is a n00b and easy game. 8million people can't do hardcore. EQ, EQ2, and another games for advanced gamers beat WoW. Lotro is a awesome game for middle earth lovers. With lot of inconvenients, but very great.
Eve Online is for a different kind of players, farm, craft and economy is the most perfect asset on that game.
Please, dont compare games, each one have any to get a different player.
i well know differences between mostly mmo (i played mostly of them), and, if WoW can be an easy game (i really don't remember, i stopped to play it a lot of years ago), is the most layable one. 12 millions of players (Blizzard says): an awesome number! BTW i well remember that WoW was funny. Maybe easy, but funny. And for an old (less two at fifty) player as me fun is most important than hardcore (i haven't enough time to do events, raids and so on).

They cannot win "MMORPG war" against WoW.
Nobody can beat Blizzard.
War, AoC and other titles are looser with WoW.
Only new and/or different games (Darkfall Online, e.g.) can do something new on MMORPG world.
And, by the way, for instance the better game is still EVE Online. A little, great game.

It's easy ti critic WoW, but it's hard to do a MMO so popular.

why don't I see any of these in the us?

Because this is the European (done by Codemasters) TV Commercial.
I suppose that Turbine has done some TV commercials, too. You can try to search on official US forum ;)
