This is quickly becoming one of my favorite solos on youtube. It's really refreshing to see a player who considers motives and form during a solo. Great job bro.

I think Daniel R. is a spectacular percussionist, but Scott straight up murdered this solo. I really felt like he threw in everything but the kitchen sink while other stayed a bit more conservative. I think most of these guys are pretty evenly matched with regards to raw skills, but this kid brings all kinds of style with his performance- pretty rare these days. Nice work-

@villageofidiots Throwing everything in the kitchen sink is the reason he lost. Daniel R. didn't stay conservative - he was GROOVING. Grooving is MUCH MUCH more difficult than people think, especially the way Daniel did it. Daniel deserved to win all the way.

Scott has chops, but Daniels solo was way more complicated and more professional.

What I'm saying is that there is no way in hell Daniel Rodriguez played conservative and I believed Daniel deserved to win. Beautiful playing Scott. Incredible dynamics, feel, and groove. I really like the rests between beats/fills. It has the effect of pacing the solo, and accentuating each section. I don't suppose you're a Spanky fan???? Watching this solo, I can't believe you didn't win first place. Great work, thanks for the inspiration....
