@CrosseyedSniper I was in 3rd PLT B Co 1/75 94-97. I checked out your channel. If that was you lifting weights then I didn't recognize you. The only snipers I can remember from back then are Grove and Sidote. And I didn't really know them. Only saw them from time to time. Since you mentioned Spizzo I guess you were in 2nd PLT for a while. I probably wouldn't recognize very many of those guys from back then but I miss them/it.

In Nam the 11-Delta who are now 19-Delta were LURP Long Range Recon Patrol now under the 19-Delta MOS they are LURSER.Long Range Recon Surv. and Report /in Nam LURP wore the black berets I belive they lost them in 1972 and Rangers took them when i was in Q-school for 18 series there was a pregnant REMF wearing our Green Beret!..only because she was "assinged out" to 5th SFGroup I know that has changed these days THANK Goodness. You go through Basic Training, then Airborne School, the 3 weeks of R.I.P., then you go to a Battalion, later while in Battalion you go to Ranger School, because the PFC's that were there ahead of you get the first Ranger School slots, period!

You can't fool me. I've been to your army bases and schools & wore my EGA proudly there. You're all big with your tabs at your own bases, but the Ranger unit that visited Camp Pendleton for a few weeks last year acted like they were inferior to us Recon Battalion Marines. What's up with that? They couldn't wait until they took off their uniforms at the end of the day. But, that's just my first hand experience.

I went to your airborne & Ranger schools. They were tough but u train for big slow movements. Understand that we Marines are de-programmed the army-ways back at our units because of this. Marines train like a sports car & being combined-arms (our own tanks, artillery, jets, attack helos, etc.) & self sustaining & not an army semi truck with only small arms. Rangers, stay close behind the Marines who are the tip of the spear so you can Lead the Way for your army units. Oohrah 1st Recon Bn!

the 1/75th Ranger Battalion was down the street from my barracks on Fort Campbell, KY (home of 101st ABN). I think they were a detachment. I was artillery and we shot for them on a few of their missions in Fort Campbell's "back 40." I remember it was "danger close" (200 meters) because they wanted it as real as possible.
"Limp Bizkit" held the rights to one of the songs. I was forced to change the audio because of that. Someone else created this video at HAAF for private use. I just thought it was great, and worth posting on youtube but did not consider infrigement rights. To keep the video on youtube I changed the audio through an option provided by youtube.
So he's First Sergeant now, I knew he would do well. He was my team leader, then squad leader, weapons platoon mortar section, then I went to the line for my last two years in battalion. I'll never forget that guy.
It was the most intense time of my life. I loved it and hated it all at once. Now that I see the videos of Iraq I feel very guilty. Feel like my old fat ass should be there helping out the boys. By the way, last I heard Bielich was a 1SG.
when i was in (2 years go) we were allowed a more relaxed hairstyle than regular Army. neck hair, sideburnes and clean face were still a must though...
thats a shame. i imagine most of the 75th still is 99% H&T though. I also wish that they didn't cycle the black berets to everyone and Big Army kept PC's. Tan berets are still cool, but I liked that the real specialized groups were the only ones with berets. Ah well
It was the Army Chief of Staff Eric Shinseki that gave the order to change the Rangers' berets to tan and adopt black berets as the garrison headgear army-wide. Though uniform changes are part of being in the army, seeing pregnant women and fat f-ing legs walking around post with black berets took some getting used to.

Interesting. I think the recent conflict between Israel and Hezbollah backed Lebanese militia shows that with the right anti-tank man portable systems special forces, in conjunction with conventional ground forces, are no longer effective. Also there is the Somolia affair, i.e. "blackhawk down"
Airborn and Ranger light forces are a liability in some enviroments. Also, they train death sqauds in S. America which puts them at a Karmaic disadvantage.

I wanted to go back to 1st, but when I agreed to Benning at MEPS it locked me into 3/75. RGT couldn't do anything. Make sure you ask for MOS/rank/no basic/POV (to first duty station for improcessing)/etc. if you want all that. My recruiter hooked me up since I was prior service. It SUCKED going through with other kids and with the regular Army again but it was all worth it. But it was also time to get out for GOOD this last time. Keep the ?'s coming.

You go through Basic Training, then Airborne School, the 3 weeks of R.I.P., then you go to a Battalion, later while in Battalion you go to Ranger School, because the PFC's that were there ahead of you get the first Ranger School slots, period!
By you not understanding that process Redmule02 tells me you never were in a Ranger Bat, let alone have ur Ranger Tab...and the fact u dont understand that anyone in the military basically can attend Ranger School and go back to their unit

You can't fool me. I've been to your army bases and schools & wore my EGA proudly there. You're all big with your tabs at your own bases, but the Ranger unit that visited Camp Pendleton for a few weeks last year acted like they were inferior to us Recon Battalion Marines. What's up with that? They couldn't wait until they took off their uniforms at the end of the day. But, that's just my first hand experience.

I went to your airborne & Ranger schools. They were tough but u train for big slow movements. Understand that we Marines are de-programmed the army-ways back at our units because of this. Marines train like a sports car & being combined-arms (our own tanks, artillery, jets, attack helos, etc.) & self sustaining & not an army semi truck with only small arms. Rangers, stay close behind the Marines who are the tip of the spear so you can Lead the Way for your army units. Oohrah 1st Recon Bn!

the 1/75th Ranger Battalion was down the street from my barracks on Fort Campbell, KY (home of 101st ABN). I think they were a detachment. I was artillery and we shot for them on a few of their missions in Fort Campbell's "back 40." I remember it was "danger close" (200 meters) because they wanted it as real as possible.

"Limp Bizkit" held the rights to one of the songs. I was forced to change the audio because of that. Someone else created this video at HAAF for private use. I just thought it was great, and worth posting on youtube but did not consider infrigement rights. To keep the video on youtube I changed the audio through an option provided by youtube.

It was the Army Chief of Staff Eric Shinseki that gave the order to change the Rangers' berets to tan and adopt black berets as the garrison headgear army-wide. Though uniform changes are part of being in the army, seeing pregnant women and fat f-ing legs walking around post with black berets took some getting used to.

Airborn and Ranger light forces are a liability in some enviroments. Also, they train death sqauds in S. America which puts them at a Karmaic disadvantage.

I wanted to go back to 1st, but when I agreed to Benning at MEPS it locked me into 3/75. RGT couldn't do anything. Make sure you ask for MOS/rank/no basic/POV (to first duty station for improcessing)/etc. if you want all that. My recruiter hooked me up since I was prior service. It SUCKED going through with other kids and with the regular Army again but it was all worth it. But it was also time to get out for GOOD this last time. Keep the ?'s coming.
