  • damn i have such fond memories of this program, followed every episode

  • What a fantastic show "Silas" was. I also enjoyed "Heidi".

  • yes as I remember Silas was shown in the summer holidays in those 80's days..

  • I only wished that Silas would be release soon, but it looks like its been put on the back burner???

  • @lucasman93 You may like to know that I spoke to Fabulous Films today and Silas is still a live project. There is still a rights-holder clearance to sort out, which is under negotiation.

  • AWESOME

    Tnx

  • I loved Silas, it was a programme that I wouldn't miss, and long to see it again. I was 14 when it was on, can't believe at 38 that I still long for some old childhood moments....good times. The downloaded the theme on itunes....its even better than i remembered. Thanks for this posting

  • I loved this as a kid, want to get it for nostalgia... Also the best music imo of any kids programme!

  • OMG I just got a massive hit of nostalgia from tSilas! I didn't even realise I remembered it until the music started, then suddenly I was a kid again! I just looked at the date, I would have been 6, amazing how a tune can stay with you like that.

  • Thanks for the memories Greg. I completely forgot about Mysterious Cities of Gold.

  • Of course these days no-one would hear Christian Bruhns excellent theme as they would talk all over it. Nice to remember the days when (even on kid's tv), they let a programme play out to the end before running trailers

  • Cool, the introduction of MCoG to the UK!

  • May I be the first person to make the "Bernd the Moribund Burgemeister" joke?

I dreamt about this time of Rocky & Bullwinkle having the "BBCtv" logo at the end, even though I knew it was an even older American show.

Great clip, from a time when children's TV acknowledged that there were more than two countries in the world ...

  • Silas is due on DVD soon in the UK from Fabulous Films. And the soundtrack including both pieces featured in this clip, by Christian Bruhn, is available in stereo on CD from German retailers.
