  • this man is real fisherman, it would cost you just as much to buy one as it would to catch one,

  • Awesome vid, im a C and R fisherman myself. Might keep 1 out of every 20 cod i catch. I just love the thrill of getting the big hits and then watching them take off again when they are released. Ive got my secret spots around here that have good numbers but havnt seen anything over 22lb with my own eyes.

  • Awesome Video. I remember watching it when it was originally ran on TV back in the 90s, along with a similiar story that was ran a few years earlier about professional fisherman on the murray river. Thank god the pro's are gone, and thank god the C&R fisherman are on the increase.

  • Blokes that kill big cod should be flogged. Its fuckwits that rape rivers that ruin it for everyone. The rivers drying up here and you should see the assholes dragging the holes and selling all the fish. they will live in the holes for another 2 months until the water from the dam arrives.

  • im with ya mate! if you know where blokes are keeping fish illegally report it to fisheries. which river has stopped into pools?

  • Yeah mate the lachlan has been shut off below Condobolin. It`s a tradgedy. Because of restocking and 98% of people doing the right thing the river is full of small cod and has a very healthy supply of yellowbelly and hardly any carp.

  • Fair point. But we fish at Tocumwal Off Time Out caravan park and rarely pull a carp but regularly hooking small and large Cod. TBH never even taken one to eat and have no idea of the taste.

    Cheers for the info

  • How is it untouched if this dude fishes there all the time.

2010 and they are in great numbers again

  • @hardyboyzrko cos it hasnt been raped by f**kwits like most of the other rivers in the region.

only a select few have been allowed to fish it

im not sure you can really say they're in great numbers. Maybe in dams where the water levels are so low its like shooting fish in a barrell but not in your average river. They'll never be as available as they once were. Especially the true giants.

  • awesome video mate thank you

  • Great stuff Rob.

Another pair of pliers in the creek.

    4.59 very familiar.
