exactly it is "emo", that is emotional. but seriously Elvenking didnt make these songs to have people call them "emo". they focused on death in this album. it was their choice. There is plenty of stronger and more moving language that falls under the topic of death. Because it is easier to talk about negatives than positives. Also depression i believe can be poetic, VERY poetic. And to add melodic riffs of not only guitar, but violin, just adds to the power of Elvenking's new album.

I'll admit it; when I first found Elvenking (through a Related Video link from Blind Guardian's Battlefield) and the first time I found The Scythe, I didn't like it. I openly voiced and posted that I didn't like Elvenking's vocals. Not one bit. Then, with The Scythe running through my head for a few days, I found myself coming back to listen to it. Now I have: The Scythe, The Wanderer, and Poison Tears on my iPod. My point being is Elvenking grows on ya.
