Wow...this is some really compelling television. To liven things up, they should shoot at some moving targets, like the judges for example. Let's see those 50-something-year-old judges run for their lives. I would watch that.
It's true, you cannot have any caffeine if you intend to do half as well as these ladies. You would be surprised what shooters diets are. They have to be more conscious than some of the other sports because you have to keep your blood sugar level and heart rate low. Although any athlete at this level is very aware of the affects of different foods.
haha you should try it, it's not as easy as it looks. trials are in January and I'd LOVE to see how you fair....maybe you can be the next Olympic medalist lmfao you have no idea how hard this sport is.
Indeed, you have to hit a target with a total diameter of only 4.5 cm from a 10 m distance. If you'd try that out now, I assure you, you wouldn't score even 0.1. You need extremely steady hands, good vision, and even if you're a natural, you need to spend a lot of time practicing. For example, K. Emmons here, who scores 10s fairly easy, practices at least 4 hours a day, every day, even though she's into shooting for more than 10 years.
I LOVE this sport! I train 3 tims a week and i should tell you that its not as easy as i looks like! You shouldnt be writing that its a boring sport because there is people that love this game!
YEah! i agree with you! damn! this sport is not that easy as what those punks thinks! it's more on self-displine,and consistency! i train also in this sport! i'm in 10m standing. but i dnt still have a suite and gun. hehehe very expensive. we're using Feinwerkbau 300c only.
cool, i also shoot 10m standing. I just bought a new suite and a gun ( Feinwerkbau 700 alu) and it was very expensive i mean OMG! 10000 swedish crowns for just the suite and then 20000 for the gun :O 3 150,10 EUR thats alot of money
more like ten years......the average Olympian has trained for ten years to be there. I'm not saying that they're not people on the Olympic team that haven't trained for less, but even Amy Sowash who started when she was 18 and is the latest learner that I know of on the team worked for four years before she got on the training team.
Not all sports are designed with the spectator in mind but rather for the competitor.
Shooting is extremely enjoyable for the person doing it, as evidenced by it's popularity with millions of people at video arcades.
Shooting takes a tremendous amount of skill and body control to be consistent. Buy yourself an air rifle and do some backyard plinking and you will see what I mean.
No it isn't like watching gymnastics or basketball, it's something meant for the competitor only.
Its not exiting, but it is very very skilfull. In order to shoot at this level you have to be working at your marksmanship 6 days per week. If you want to see exiting shooting go the movies.
This sport is very challenging

In this sport, you will be able to know how CONSISTENT and DISIPLINE you are. and it also improves your way of deciding if you'll do this or not.

it takes a lot of practice to be a good curler too...but that doesn't mean it should be an olympic sport
