  • so ho wins?

  • Are they here in "out of the box" condition? 2209 seems to have a bit more vivid colours. Which one you would say has more natural colours tho? I wish you had the viewsonic vp2365wb aswell for compare, as its tad cheaper, but uses the same screen as dell u2311h and nec ea231wmi, the lg screen. u2311h have been rated slightly better than viewsonic tho. Cheers!

  • i'm considering both of those and i really can't decide which one. and i'm also on the look for a S-PVA monitor, or should i wait for PLS monitors from Samsung? any suggestions? from your video looks that 2209wa is way better in almost any situations...

  • @63Jax Well, see the the answer for the first part below.

For the last part - both are great, The 2209 has bigger fonts in the native res, but the 2311 has higher res-more info on the display.

Check my answers to Janet8425 and growingup2204 below.

    :-)

  • @63Jax i wouldnt say that 2209 is way better by looking this video, i think they would score the same.

  • i'm considering both of those and i really can't decide which one. and i'm also on the look for a S-PVA monitor, or should i wait for PLS monitors from Samsung? any suggestions?

  • @63Jax I can't help you much with this question. What I knew (when I bought them - 8 months ago) was that the e-IPS were cheaper then the S-PVA, about half the price.

Generally, the S-PVA were told to be better, cost more and there were more brands and sizes.

I know nothing about the PLS monitors. Anyway, good luck.

  • @singernaloa thanks for the reply. i think i'll go for 2209wa or wait for pls. PLS is a combination of ips and pva, they say... but will see

  • but what about power consumption? try to compare it with other TFTs!

  • @xrenube Try to compare a jet plane to a car, with both of them you can go from one place to another.

BTW, how much power your computer power supply consumes when it's on?

  • @singernaloa

I have no idea... But, almost all components in my PC are energy efficient. Also, I'm a Greenpeace volunteer, I'm eating tasty vegetables and sleeping in the haystack.

  • @xrenube Taking my hat off! I solute your awareness of the subject.:-)

  • so which is better for films and games?

  • @janet8425 From my feeling the U2311H got few advantages over the 2209WA for video display,

like more viewing area(more pixels) and better ratio hight \ width->for HD wide films.

For text \ browsing I prefer the 2209WA.

Both gives great value and great picture.

  • 2209W is a great monitor and the view angles is very good too.- yep l have the 2209W as well ;)

  • @no288 :o)

  • the most important aspect of these monitors is the corner bleeding on a dark room, you havn't compare them make a review!!

    thanks

  • @airtech17 How to test? Write or send a link for example, and I'll try to cover it....

  • @singernaloa Make the room as dark as you can, and then show a completely black screen on both monitors (while on! ;) ), that should make it easy to detect it.

  • thank you for your review.

    already order U2311H

    waiting for it now :)

  • @dimaod

    Thanks. :-)

    Enjoy!

    Good choice.

  • Absolutely the same

  • @shwingam Win 7 Ultimate lets you choose a theme or download it free through bing.

  • @Superabound1013 Yes. You are right.

  • What monitor do you like more, and why? great review btw! to bad IQ was kinda bad..

  • @26psyside Yea, Thanks! Watch back about 5 posts, (earlier in reply to @growingup2204) for an answer.

    Good luck!

  • The 2209W seems to be the better monitor, hence why it's probably a priced a little higher. I also prefer the 16:10 aspect ratio. The U2311 would have to have a lower quality IPS panel, but front on, the different in image quality would probably be irrelevant. I've just got a 2209W at work, and I'm impressed. The viewing angle is better than my U2410 at home. It looks great. You definitely can't go wrong with a 2209W.

  • @Wardrop19 Yea, on this monitors (in the movie) I agree.

They might improved the U2311 at Rev 01, maybe check it out.

  • Great revew :) next time speek up :)

  • @oibastard90 Thanks!!

  • hey great job with this comparison

    10x

  • @twoPEU Thanks! Which one you prefer?

  • @singernaloa - from what i see here i prefer the 2209WA

  • @singernaloa Do u agree with me that the 2209 looks better ?

  • @growingup2204 Well, probably It's obvious that I prefer it, as you can guess from the movie.

Currently I use it (2209WA) as my main display and the U2311H as secondary.

U2311H function better for watching and editing movies, graphics, and probably gaming.

Text (mostly internet) on 2209WA is bigger, hence more pleasant for the eye.

  • i can get the U2311H for 320 bucks wadda ya think? is it worth it

    right now i got a 19" lg

  • @zigsauer I think YES!!! Go for it, it's a GVFM.

  • I just ordered a u2311h last night because of the deal they're having. Hope its nice. Thanks the video, btw.

  • @xC4Rbonx Can you add a link for that deal?

Hope you'll enjoy it, it's a great low cost monitor.

  • I can't believe you did a monitor review, yet somehow failed to format the video properly, such that it isn't stretched. If you don't believe me, compare the monitors' width when they are oriented vertically with the same width when they are pivoted horizontally.

  • @precariousgray You are right. the movie is stretched, it was formated automatically for youtube by Windows Movie Maker, I didn't bother to get into it.

The movie was made to answer a request I've got by a forum member.

I did it also for my joy, not to satisfy anyone or get any profit from it.

Anyway - thanks for pointing it out. Hope you got SOMETHING from it.

  • Pulp Fiction !

  • Thanks for the video on this one mate..

  • @KTMsmurf My pleasure

    :-)

  • Viewing angles on the 2209 are far better. WHY WASN'T IT 1920X1080?!! ARRGH.

  • @Benjomatic The difference is not so big as it seems.

Since most people doesn't watch their monitors in extreme angles, from my perspective, you shouldn't worry about it.

Both have a superior viewing angles to the TN displays.

  • How do you tell apart the final U2311H and previous U2311H?

  • @jgrey I'm not sure what you mean. As long as I know, There is no PREVIOUS U2311H. There is, the U2211H which is 22".....

    Is that what you meant?

  • @singernaloa Ahh alright, maybe I'm confused. I was under the impression that U2311H went through a revision from the first model. I'm probably mistaken, I've been doing so much review-reading that my head is going funny... =D Thank you for the vid btw!

  • @jgrey yeh theres a revision of the U2311H its the A01 so in the end which one is better?

  • @PS3Carper Please read the comment to szabozoltanhet

    He asked the same question.

And the 2311 in the movie is A00.

  • video quality is awful even @ 720p

you're not going to see relevant differences using video of this caliber

  • @tdreamgmail You're right. its a simple home video cam, not even 720p, closer to 320...

Well, you are welcome to send me a better (HD) cam or to come over and take some shots here...

  • on Dells Australian website the 2209wa is the more expensive monitor ??

  • @DingoBabyEat Yea, funny, isn't it?

    The U2311H is 50$ less.....

  • 2:20 I stilllll need to watch that damn movie... I've seen it on TV but never watched the whole thing -___-.

    I wish there was a 2409WA and a 2609WA D:

The U2311H doesn't look half bad but I've heard that it has some QC issues and it doesn't seem as nice as the 2209WA :(

  • @MattByProXy Well, there IS the Dell 2709WA 27inch LCD Monitor of course.....

And I agree, For general use - the 2209WA might be a better choice.

    It looks and feels bigger.

    :)

  • nice, but please do ghosting/input lag/response time tests for gamers who are interested in both like me!

  • I am interested in these DELLs but I heard a lot about noise when brightness is not 100%, can you share this experience?

  • @silentzero7 Don't Know. What noise? I use 30% brightness on both displays and hear/see no problems. Maybe give a link that supports this theory?

  • @singernaloa I find some postings on a german site (prad.de) where some users reporting noise on lower brightness but some others hear nothing and there are also reports from other models (hp, fujitsu...) with noise troubles, so i am not sure if there are differences in quality or it is more a individual problem.

  • @silentzero7 Well, this specific two monitors makes no noise. No matter which brightness I choose. If there will be such a problem, I'm sure the Dell worldwide warranty would cover it....

  • @singernaloa Thanks for the information!

  • i considering to buy u2211h which is the smaller version of the u2311h

since you have the 2209WA i wanted to ask you if you feel any ghosting

in games & movies since the u2311h/u2211h have a 8ms refresh rate while

the 2209WA have 6ms refresh rate

  • @nyny99ful

In movies - I can't tell the difference.

I'm not using them for games so I can't tell...

But if You like to hear my advise, invest a bit more and take the U2311H.

It's like buying a HDTV of 25" - you need to sit as close as 1 feet away to see the HD benefits.

The extra inch in size worth the money.

My next monitor will be probably the Dell UltraSharp U2711 27”....

  • I will buy one of these monitors. What do u think, which one is bestfor PS3 and FullHD movies ?

  • @Montray984 for HD movies the U2311H is the better choice.

I donwt know about the PS3

  • Have you tested gaming on these monitors? I want to know which is better. I know the 2209WA has a slightly faster refresh rate, so I wanted to know if there's any ghosting on the U2311H. I heard there's some turbo mode for gaming though. Can you see any ghosting on either display?

  • @BarnabyPanton Not done ghosting test yet, Will do soon. Currently I'm not using this monitor for games.

  • Can u make a non-wide version? I will buy one of these monitors. What do u think, which one is best?

  • @szabozoltanhet Well,

The U2311H gives you wider working space(higher resolution-HD), sharper display(smaller pixel size) but condensed to a bit smaller display area.

If you sit far, like bigger fonts, and don't mind High Def as a native res -> 2209WA

Maby more convinient for text, brawsing, word processing...

But if you're willing to pay a bit more, watch HD media (Movies, games etc.), or work with graphics I would choose the U2311H. Sit a bit closer and see clearer.Colors are the same.

  • @singernaloa

Thank you. Then it will be the U2311H.

  • @szabozoltanhet My pleasure.

  • Wideee video...

    bad quality

  • @Dziminskiy Yea, Thanks, Well - my second film.

Hope you get SOMETHING from it.
