  • I wish you hadn't contrasted Mother Teresa against Ted Bundy as they were both so obviously psychopathic and calculated.

I suppose she was meant as an example of good derived from self interest, but she was in fact the queen bitch of the catholic church, denying basics like painkillers to suffering patients in her hospices.

Had Ted Bundy murdered her, he would have been a folk hero ;-)

  • @trefod Agreed.

  • Could you post a full transcript?

    Thanks!

  • The song is "Nothing Else Matters", a Metallica song redone by Apocalyptica. :)

  • Beautiful!

One critique: Your voice is a bit muffled and difficult for me to understand.

    Other than that, perfect!

  • Awesome series....very smart and provocative!

  • First, excellent version of Nothing Else Matters and brilliant use of that song.

I would never have thought that we all basically are doing things for the same reasons, especially the people who are doing what we classify as atrocities. Food for thought.

I appreciate all the time and thought you put into your videos.

  • Mother Teresa was not a good person. She believed that people should suffer for God. All the billions of dollars she raised did not go into helping the sick and poor but bought more convents for Nuns.

Your video is filled with topics to discuss.

  • Another wonderful video. My son is on the autism spectrum, so I'm quite interested in the brain. I know autism is caused by things going wrong in the brain. Things are processed and perceived so differently for autistic individuals. So many unknowns about the brain. It's just amazing.

  • @Roseybaby63 My son is, also. Before he was verbal, I used to say I would give anything to be inside his brain for only five minutes. He's HFA and able to express himself pretty well now but I still quite often don't get how he connects things. The brain certainly is a fascinating piece of machinery.

  • Nothing Else Matters... brilliant.

  • Amazing! Love it!

  • Apocalyptica goes well with your vids.

  • Wow, very good

  • this is epic Dom.

  • Another very nice video! I particularly liked the thought behind the comparison of mother Teresa and Ted Bundy; I have never thought of that concept like this before. I'm likening this series thus far, mind opening stuff. Have you ever looked into Game theory?

  • another amazing video, thanks!

  • great vid. we need to get you more subs... not for your sake but for the benefit of others.

  • @marcarmstrong88 Thank you! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • @Dom0nePhilosophy i do my best, dont worry

  • Is it me or are your videos getting more trippy?...either way, great video. Especially when you're stoned ( legally) lol

  • I don't see why you single out emotions as being meaningless and contrived, when all our other experiences and perceptions could, quite easily, be subject to the same critique.. Maybe I missed something..

    eitherway nice vid

  • @Henrythecamel Cheers! Glad you enjoyed!

RE Perception. The whole video was essentially about perception, ie how we see/view/understand the world. Our perceptions being at the behest of emotion.

For example the last sentence "For what characteristic could humanity embody more than that to wish us to be convinced of the authenticity of all that we see, hear, touch, taste and smell, without this trust, life would be meaningless".

  • @Dom0nePhilosophy "Our perceptions being at the behest of emotion."

Ah, personally I would not say that perception or emotion has a ruling over the other, but I understand where you're coming from now.

  • @Henrythecamel Certainly not a ruling over the other, but certainly emotion feeds perception ie we perceive a lion as threatening, due to fact that we would emotionally crap ourselves if we were in a room with one. Our experiences (including vicarious ones) also feed this perception, but again they're prompted by emotion. If we had no emotion, we'd be numb to the lion's threat, or the "fear" of it eating us etc.

  • @Dom0nePhilosophy My bad, when i said "other experiences and perceptions" I meant the other input we use to form a perception. Mainly, in this case, the knowledge we have of the lion (pun intended).

We know the lion is there and the danger it represents, combine that with the fear we feel and it gives us an accurate understanding/perception of the situation.

What I originally meant was I don't understand why you single out emotion as being meaningless and contrived but not the other input.

  • Beautiful! Brother!

  • @buktomsin Too generous! Fully appreciated! Peace
