Well, near the end of Mass Effect 3 as a matter of fact, the Illusive Man gains control of the Citadel and has it transported in orbit of Earth. He hopes to use the Prothean superweapon to control the Reapers, enslave all non-humans, and then ascend humanity itself into a god-like status. I bet he's gonna be the final boss, huh?
@unbound86 yeah, i know. In the ending of ME2, there are almost 300 Reapers... my head says that once again, the galaxy is doomed and the cycle will continue. My gut however, says While we might fail, we definately won't go down without a huge final battle :P
@TBEClanMovies you're looking at that from a pure prargon import. The final battle, at least numbers wise, should be easiest on that method, but if you've done like i have, and created the ultimate worst playthrough method, then things ae going to be very different - especially because Kasumi and Morinth are the only survivors
@TBEClanMovies Quarians might have 50000 ships but how many of those have combat capabilities and of those how many can be considered ''modern'' seeing that a lot of their ships are over 200 years old. For example you can't put a Man-of-war against an Arleigh Burke class destroyer
@TBEClanMovies Yeah but seeing that a Reaper has more combat strength then a dreadnought and that the Council races combined only have about 80, they still are outgunned, and seeing it destroyed the Citadel fleet and about ten cruisers of 5th Fleet(while not even fully operational because it was controlling the station).
Never really cared too much about the Citadel on my first play through since it was the only place I couldn't die or lose squad mates, I could just go to Chora's den and watch the robotic dancers while I do my homework. But when Sovereign busts in, I realize nobody's safe, but more like, "Shit just got real"
Not really, garrus was sick of how the c-sec and by extention, the council did things. And kaiden is a human, and humanity is so awesome i bet he was thinking that we bot only could save the assessention, but also tear soverign a new one!
Ok, those opinions may have been a little extreme...
As much as I love the ending, I always felt that it was a bit too easy to to persuade Saren to give up. Shepard must have used the force because it was almost like:
Why used them the biggest, slowest and most prestigeous (it just screamed "please shoot us") to evacuate the council...
And the cruiser at 9:04 absolutely deserved to be destroyed ... it was probably too hard for the captain to keep his maingun aligned torwards a big, fat, stationary target.
@AmarrEmperor He might have been aligning for a broadside instead of a bow shot; ME Alliance ships are said to have a secondary armament of smaller, more numerous mass accelerators along their flanks in addition to their spinal-mounted main gun.
The most powerful known ship in the galaxy destroyed by a tiny frigate, while bombardement from around a dozen cruiser doesn't even seem to harm the hull? Sure...
@triangleshapedcheese all the normandy is is a stealth ship thats what made it so kick ass, and thats why it got its ass kicked against the collectors, because they saw right through it
@etocadet And then it was only stealth against sensors. Like they said during Legion's mission, if someone in the enemy vessel looks out the window, it's plain as day.
I wish there was moment like this at the end of Mass Effect 2.
Hopefully there will be something like this at the end of ME3.

It would be something if Shepard could have used Sovereign, kill it then use it's "body"

seeing what a single reaper can do agianst a fleet that size makes me wonder how we're gonna kick their asses back to dark space.

@randomguy666uk In reality there were only around 60 ships attacking Sovereign who likely one of the strongest ships as he is a Vanguard.
The Quarians have 50'000 Ships, We have the Rachni if you Save them, The Geth and every other Species on our side.
600'000+ ships > Couple of hundred reapers.
