  • @beardediguana1234 how could I tell what?

  • how could you tell?I wanna get my own

  • Exactly the same as my little boy!

We rescued him when he was only days old because he was thrown out of his 'clan'. Our cats hurt him a little, but we got him back to health and raised him as a human.

Unfortunately I had to have him put down on Sunday at about nine months old. A parasite damaged his insides. Probably the biggest loss I've ever known. Such a beautiful, kind and happy spirit.

  • I have a fur child that looks like that cutie. I am a wildlife rehabber. A woman dropped off a box of rat babies to me, mistaking them for baby squirrels. I bottle fed all of them till their eyes opened to me. I released all of them back to the wild except for one who was more imprinted and domesticated. My lil girl looks just like yours. I am glad there are people in the world who give rodents a chance.

  • I meant to say "buy", not "pie" just a moment ago. That was embarrassing.

  • we use humane traps if we have an unwanted rat in the house. it dosn't hurt the rat just scares it a little. Then when we wake up in the morning we can just set it free outside. there is no need for glue traps when more humane methods exist.

  • @Lyhraify Agreed! And humane traps are, hands down, less messy than glue traps, so it's certainly worth the extra cost to pie them.

A lot of animals will learn to not fear people when they understand the benefits. My mom has a crow at work who flies down every time she pulls up in her car. It's hilarious.

  • looks like a cutiepie roof rat.. such a cutie

  • I see the many rats running on the top of yard wall fence, because I feed them so far....they know my voices, approach me and wait for me to put the food down then walk backward...they crawl down to the ground and eat it....they wouldn't harm me at all... I see them every morning and night as they come for the food from me... : )

  • OMFG! how adorable with its big beady eyes :)

  • @KassandraMorseME Thanks and just to think that there are people putting out glue traps for these beautiful creatures makes my stomach turn.

  • @TheYellowtulip Oh i Know! its so sad :( my uncle killed a rat with a rat trap and i flipped out on him like he just shot someone. How can you kill an animal that can be so loving :) If i found a wild rat in my garage or something i wouldnt kill it. if it was health but some how got stuck in my house id catch it and set it free in a field where it wont be killed by some stupid person :/ I think its cute how you saved the little rat, it probrobly came to you cause it knew you would save it :)

  • rats are smarter than human think but my ferret would kill it

  • Yes a ferret would definitely kill a rat unless they are friends from birth and no a rat is not smarter than a human lol.

  • Of course: only a little percentage of rats will have some disease. I'm not afraid of rat diseases. I'm just afraid one of them could jump over my bed and bit me. One cusin of mine would have this very problem in his house. A rat came, have her babies there, and all was infected. These huge rats uses to bit people. Nobody could be afraid of domesticated rats, but wild cats could bit and jump over you, and even attack you.

  • wild rats don't jump on people for no reason. Even if you attack them first they run away. They fear people. My wild rat was showing affection by licking my fingers a few days after I saved her.

  • @TheYellowtulip It could be true. Sme two months ago, we had had a rat invasion in our balcony, and once, my mother went to put sme water in our plants and flower and there was a BIG rat trying to hide under a flower. My mother only saw her when she was over the plant. The rat, inestead of jumping over her, seemed desperate, turned three times over herself, and then JUMPED OVER THE BALCONY and disappeared...She didn't attack her.

  • @TheCapaodaCanoa Rats can bite if you try to attack it first but never attack for no reason. The rat that I saved licked my fingers in a few days after saving her. When you show an animal kindness it will show it back to you.

  • It looked even cuter when one was dead in my rat trap hahaha :P:P

  • @Goldadon You are a disgusting human being. How would you feel if you were stuck in a glue trap? Some rats ripped their own legs off to try to survive.

  • @TheYellowtulip

I haven't used glue traps!! I've only used instant kill rat traps, just like a mouse trap but just bigger.

I've got animals in my backyars so I can't use rats with them, they bring diseases. And by the way , you said : how would you feel. Well smart person, the brain of rat is nog the brain of the human. A human would fight not to die, an animal would fight just to live. Animals don't fear death.

  • @Goldadon You don't make any sense fighting not to die is the same as fighting to survive.(to live). Where is your proof that animals don't fear death. If an animal would not fear death they wouldn't be so nervous and hold on to you when trying to throw them up into the air or trying to get out of a bucket of water or be terrified when you try to give them a bath.

  • It's so lovely there are people out there who care about wild rats & mice. Most people would scream in disgust and possibly kill the rodent out of fear. This is a normal little ratty, of the genus rattus norvegicus, he isn't even from the same family of rats that were blamed for the plague, the black rats, genus rattus rattus. Even then, it was their fleas, not the rats themselves that spread it!

  • This is the cutest little thing I have ever seen!!!! Look at those big, shiny eyes!!! ^_^

    Is it a little fella??

He/She reminds me of my little Elroy...same face-shape; mahoosive eyes. :D

  • Did you get him the proper shots? Was he a baby when you found him?

  • Won't his four turtle sons miss him?

  • stunning, with the most beautifulo eyes

  • this dude killed my hamster with a glue trap i was cryin

  • This little guy is adorable! He looks stuffed, lol I hate peoples attitude towards rats, they are brilliant intelligent creatures and should not be persecuted, Humans carry and spread more disease than any other spieces, Well done for saving him :)

  • i once rescued 2 mice in my house

  • Beautiful little being! Thanks for rescuing her. I have had over 20 rescued wild ship rats myself. Currently, I have only 2, a brother and sister found in an attic. The girl runs freerange in my apt, and her brother, a very shy homebody lives in a large cage. The ones I have raised from babies are always very friendly and never stop thinking of me as "mom." I actually prefer them to ship rats, but I have both species.

  • Aww it's so cuute. Not many people would have saved it and fed it like you did. You managed to make him/her very tame! We think there might be rats in our garden, and although I adore rats, I do tend to assume they have deseases and be on the safe side. I left out some peanuts for them a few days ago :>

    Sweet video ^-^

  • @NightOfFlame Oh sorry that sounds like I meant I kill them...I don't!! I just don't want to touch them xD Maybe if I had gloves? lol

  • @NightOfFlame yes i do think that gloves might work. i heard some scratching noises in the kitchen behind the wall. but i doubt that i will ever catch it. but if i do try i would use gloves. they all dont carry disease but i would take that percaution

  • oh my jeebus that is effin ADORABLE! and it`s true! people spread more diseases than rats. i hate people that use glue traps.

  • @pisination Yes I agree I hate when people kill small animals for no reason. Especially not knowing which one has a disease or not. Just because a rat enters your home doesn't mean you have to kill it. Only a small percentage have disease but the pest control companies will make you believe that your life will be over if you don't kill it just to sell their services and products.

  • @TheYellowtulip that's really nice that you did that....i don't kill rats for shits and giggles, and i don't kill them because i think they have diseases....we put out traps because there are too many living in the walls of our garage, and they could eventually cause serious and costly damage to our house...you've got to keep them under control, because they can reproduce very fast. I've got lots of respect for you though, this was a really nice thing to do

  • @xJeWdAcRiSx If your garage was sealed properly then nothing would ever inside. I have a garage and nothing enters my house or garage. I found this rat in mynyard but it could not get inside. It will cost you more to keep buying traps instead of sealing your house.

  • @TheYellowtulip well, i mean, seeing as we park our cars in the garage we have it open quite often...it's not like we're inviting the rats into our house, and we've never had this problem before

  • @pisination There is a safe way to remove a live rat from a glue trap, though: Use the kind of shampoo for removing heavy hairspray on Qtips at the points of contact. Very gently nudge the attached parts free of the glue, and keep the rat indoors till they have time to remove the goo. Those traps are awful, but if someone you know uses one, at least now you know how to save the rat.

  • that is so cute! I've done something similar with some wild rat babies, who are now fully grown and happy. I agree with you on the disease thing, I know all of the diseases people blame on rats, and none of them are directly related to or even spread by rats. it's all propaganda spread by pest control companies. Rat poison kills more people each year than weils disease, or murine typhus ever have in human history. and new evidence shows that the plague was not caused by them either.
