uhm....if you have a pretty good team and 10 million to spend and there's a bunch of high 80s for sale, why dont you buy them? spend 10m and get a superstar center and defensemen for a year. there's literally nothing wrong with that. you have nothing to worry about with cap and you have some fantastic free agents giving you a shot at a stanley cup

The blackhawks/calgary trade isn't surprising. Morrison never played and they wanted a prospect like Connelly and the blackhawks wanted a veteran. It's not a big trade so there's no reason for Johnny to talk about it, calgary has made it clear that playoffs are not a goal this year and i think they'll be sellers/buyers and the deadline.

Why: Kessel is struggling on the right side so maybe putting him on the left may get a few more goals. Giroux over Getzlaf since he is a playmaker so putting them together with snipers. Kadri on the second to feed Getzlaf and Kulemin, who are scorers. Staal over Colborne on 3rd centre just because Staal isn't too good offensively so putting him on his off wing's a bad idea.

I think you can leave as that, keeping that clicking 1st line with Giroux/Getzlaf (I really don't think you should split them). If you want it to be the same as the previous year, you can put Kessel there and play Grigorenko in the 2nd. They are similar style players, so you choose if you want him to play on the 1st, get more EXP and develop more. Maybe it's the right thing to do, and the 2nd line would have a great sniper in Kessel.

Get Ryan O'Reilly from Colorado as your 4th line center. He is an 83 ovr will B potential in every category and he is a amazing face off man and a two way forward. He is also a great penalty killer and has 96 discipline so he almost never gets penalties. Keep Giroux, Getzlaf Grigorenko on the first and Colborne, Kadri and Kessel on the second line.

Ur team sucks compared to mine lol....during 2015-2016 season for me, both NHL Team And AHL have 100 everywhere (Team Reports)....I did a Habs GM Mode & Average age is 22! Got Yakupov,Duchene,Stamkos,Price,­Mackinnon,Grigorenko,RNH,Granl­und,Eller,Hedman,Larsson and Subban rated 88+ overall, and all others are prospects rated from 77 to 87 with B's potentials lol

If you were to sign Lucic, Kunitz, and Gionta, and then trade them, your GM rep would go way down. I did that in NHL10 and free agents would never sign with my team because they were afraid they would be traded. It became a serious issue. LOL. So, be happy you didn't take the advice of others by signing and then trading those top UFAs.
