need i remind u take all the animals that go there year in and out and all the campers that shit there.get off it they burry their shit musicadynamica...you want to pack mine out ..it stinks
I went there expectintg environmentally conscious people but instead, I realized that this once pristine wilderness could never sustain 10,000-15,000 people...thus came the guilt of even being there. The garbage left, although dispicable, wasn't the main harm, I observed trees cut, trampled earth/new trails, and human waste everywhere. Hippocrasy. Very sad.
The trash is gone, the trails-new and old, will be torn asunder and made to dissappear. No living tree's were cut any where, only dead tree's and dead fall were used. Human waste every where? Which Gathering were you at? The one where we are currently reseeding the edges of the meadow where we had Main Trail?
Pristine means untouched, Skookum has been hunted, camped in and used to harvest Bear Grass since forever.
@musicadynamica I respect your observations my brother. I observed what I stated, cut live trees. But I think you missed my point. Skookum has always been used, very lightly. The fact is, it got hit hard by 20,000 souls. Humans excrete about 1 lb of urine/feces per day. Multiply by 20000 people for avg. 3 days. That's 60,000 lbs of excrement/urine into the ground! Re-seed all you want but eventually, the waste will seep into the groundwater/creeks. Pack it in, pack it out...everything!
i miss you all

Pristine does not have a road circling it.
