what i think is that they turned down mileys mic every time she got to sing those long high notes. then you only mainly hear the background music which already got her voice in it, in case she broke her voice or didn't have enough breath. there are some places in which she sings differently than the notes in the background music, and when long high notes follow, her voice somehow disappears in the music.
