why sand it so rough, u can just wet sand around the body work with only 400 grit

iv'e had 4 black ex's and iv'e just kept them in my garage and drive them once a week but there good they run good and look nice

i want to sand m car and i want to know what kind of sand paper i need and wat grit, i want to leave the primer i dnt want to remove it
