Thanks for the great video, but you don't mention (and neither do the instructions on the can) about drying time. It just says to wait until fully cured until you put it under pressure. I know it dries to the touch in a few minutes but how long does it usually take till fully cured?
@Iansfamilyvideos hello Ian; It takes very little time before you can put water through the piping system.I join pipe and fittings together and within a few minutes I pour water down the drain. It takes a VERY short time to cure.I can tell you that if you glue a piece of pipe and a fitting together; you will not get it apart five minutes later. I used glue and cleaner years ago and it even cures faster, but all I use now is glue and have had no problems. Thanks for the comment.Have a good day..Al
@DoorknobsInc Just one thing to be careful of when working with any glues or combining plastic;make sure there is plenty of ventilation.People have actually died from fumes off of these products.Work in a well ventilated area.Good luck with your project.I hope it helped.Have a great day....Al
@DoorknobsInc Hello there; Not overly familiar with AbS sheets as such.I guess it would depend on what you were adhering it to as well.Abs cement for pipe and fittings becomes quite hard over time.If you are using it on an object that has a lot of vibration on it; I would MAYBE try acetone.Your best bet is to test a few small pieces before doing the complete job.I am only familiar with the yellow product in this area as a glue.I don't believe they make a glue that is multi purpose in my opinion.
how does the abs glue workdoes it melt the plastic or just the glue that hardens and bonds`?
