I am so proud of Trinbagonians who seem to have the correct vision for where our culture needs to be. Viewers must be aware that most of these live videos like this that is on the net is a direct result of someone copying for this or other pirating purposes in mind. As near as the 80s and prior these live performances were destroyed by the government owned and operated television station know as TTT. Rather than purchase new reels of film they will film over these treasures like these! Shame!
The way Sandra sings, one can tell that it comes from the bottom of her heart, and that is how she makes her audience feel. She is a great artiste. God Bless her.
ummm...are you from trinidad?...if not, then you wouldn't understand. but the reality of the suitation is that this happans anywhere in the world, where ghettos are...but she is singing about what she see in trinidad.
Big big Singing Sandra fan she really is a master song writer/singer her voice just permeates the soul, she has classic songs that will stand the test of time.
i saw perform this on the ferry ( fast boat ) to trinidad from tobago once, had a video of it on my phone, but you had to be their in person to really feel it .... i was shocked , its through all this i really start doing old skool..
Singing sandra...I've heard this song since i was a really young child...never seen u perform it....and i must say..you did a very good job, outstanding performance, depicts true ghetto life..."voice from de ghetto" caribbean massive!!

i support dat comment SandoTrini...no disrespect to other genre's of music but the day when we as Trini's (especially local radio stations) learn to love and appreciate our own, dats the day when alot of tings will change in the country..in my opinion anyway cuz the power of music is not the answer (God is) but we need to have LESS of certain (dis also goes 4 certain Soca lyrics as well) lyrics that our young ppl are listening to..God Bless Trinidad and Tobago
There are a lot of similarities I won't say its the same song. I was actually living in Grenada when Scholar sang "Voices" and it never once came to mind when I first heard "Voices from the Ghetto".
plz leave this video up watchin and hearin her perform it does have meh pores raisin, one of my favorite calypsos and calypsonians, keep all the old calypso monarch clips comin

With all the rap music and reggae music songs about ghetto life, there has been no better description of poverty than in this song by Singing Sandra.
