For those who don't know, you need to be a bit of a hobbyist to put together and fly one of these jets. Sometimes you have to have a little imagination and know how. When you deal with electronics, they will fail even the best do. These planes don't build or fly themselves. I for one like BH kits and continue to grow my hangar. If you try to fly one of these jets as a first endeavor, you WILL crash. Gain lots of experience first then get one of these speedsters. Go Pete I'll back you.

1. VFA-102 flies F/A-18F's not the E models

Do not buy from Banana Hobby... I bought two planes from BH and neither one will fly.....! I asked for help so they asked for pics, I sent them, they then indicated that they're so-called "warranty" is void once the aircrafts are assembled. How in the hell was I suppose to know they would not fly without assembling them? I have the transcript from the conversation... Pass it on.. They lie and cheat and have no Customer Service! They did whatever they could to get out of helping me out......!

BTW, I see BH blocked my OTHER name so I couldn't leave any truthful comments, so this is my new one! ANYWAY, someone mentioned cheaper jets no good. NOT TRUE! I bought Exceed RC F-18 from NitroPlanes the same time I bought BHs.  Jet is STILL going strong, and have had NO ISSUES with it yet! Not bad for a $187 airplane! If BH offered a KIT version only, I may reconsider doing business with them again! If BH took care of me because of faulty ELECT pre-installed, I would do business with them.

I bought Viper from BH last Feb. Crashed twice because of the faulty Y-harness to wing which I found after the fact. Called BH on it and was told to pack sand. Some customer service! So YEAH, ELEC are CRAP! It's too bad, as I really like the size and detail realism/accuracy of their jets, but I decided not to do business w/them ever again, as I still have a sour taste in my mouth. Too bad I can't find anything comparable, as other CO's jets just don't look right. EX: HET F-18. Avail in KIT form?

what some ppl fail to realize that this is V1 of the Hornet in his demo, the V2 is now out and has fixed the landing gear problem by replacing the servo's with metal geared servo's also the V2 has 2 servo's for rudder and the electronic are better (100A ESC),, Yes this guy is a salesman, and obviously runs a business and i reakon good on him, He puts a lot time and effort in to his reviews and nothing is free,but at the end of the day its up to YOU if you buy from him or not

I could understand the cheap electronics if this was $150 RTF or so, but they put that junk in them and outrageously inflate the price. Shame shame. I'm a semi newbie to RC flight. I learned to not buy from these people before I learned what LIPO stood for. HAHAHA!

what you dont know is that the electronics that come with this plane are all crap. From the chinese copied fan down to the flimsy landing gear and every crappy servo the plane comes with . Pete you really need to bite the bullet and become a used car salesman . That way nobody will care when you rip everyone off, cause its expected.

I'm from Switzerland and bought the Graupner version of your jet. I'm wondering whether that one works on 6S as well, the ESC seems a bit different from yours (no blue shrink wrap), do you have any info on that?

Mine also has rudder hinges and servo slots and I will add rudder control. Any problems with the 6S 5A pack in terms of CG? I have some of those from my T-Rex 600 but they're about 800 grams as opposed to a 5S 3300 as recommended which is about 500g.

Update, it works on 6S too and generates about 2.1 kg of thrust standing still. Have to maiden it yet though and waiting on a good day to do that.

The build is pretty straight forward and easy. Major portions are built already. You just have to glue the wings to the fuse and the 2 fuselage halves.

Ever notice pete never uses the controller that comes with the plane. He will give you some lame excuse, but the truth be told the controller must not be that good if he has to use his own. we want to see the controller that comes with it, not yours.

This FA18 does not include a transmitter. You can ad it if you choose to when ordering. I actually almost always use the stock provided transmitter when it is included. When they are not, I do not need to waste money on a transmitter just for video purposes. I will use my own equipment when they are not provided in the actual package. Especially on the larger EDF's. They are ADD transmitter and receiver. They do not come provided.

Thank you so much for the comment! So glad to know you are out enjoying yours! The V2's will be out in about 1 month.  They are in production now. V2's will have rudders, carbon main spare x2, 100amp esc, metal retract gear servos, upgraded retracts on the nose gear, and a beefier composite fan and shroud. I believe the UBEC is now a 10amp as well. Will be available in 3 new schemes. Keep an eye out for the proto type video. That should be up in a week or so. Thanks again!

Thanks for the comment! Your experience on Real Flight is most likely enough to handle an EDF like this. However, it is still best to start with something a bit smaller. Then when you are comfortable, you can move on to a larger model.

There is no way to fly these at extreme altitudes unless you are using a FPV system. You can not visibly see the aircraft orientations after a certain height.

Range is Line Of Site. If you loose site of it, it will result in a crash landing. Keep it in view and there will be no range issues.

Freaking SWEEEEEEEEEEET!! Glad someone got a radar on her! I flew mine this weekend! Put 3 6S 5000mah packs through her and painted the clear blue with my Diamondbacks in record time! I made a full speed pass inverted over the runway with the rudders a few inches off the ground! Man it was so funn!!! Glad you are enjoying yours!!
