They played Toads a few times, once in '91, the only time I saw them, they opened for The Replacements (who rocked also), they played a couple times in '92, one time they opened for Teenage Fan Club, and in '94 but they headlined. I don't remember who they shared the bill with the second show in '92, but odds are you saw the first one with Teenage Fan Club, pretty sure that was it.
I saw this band open for someone at Toads Place New Haven Ct , I think it was in the early 90,s - I had never heard of them, but I thought they blew the headliner away - does anyone know who that headliner was ? = I can't remember
Unbelievably great. Thanks for sharing. If I could have been at any gig in history I would pick UT's last show. I've been listening to this show for 15 years and seen other video, but never in such clarity. What a joy!
Thank you so much for putting up all this footage, PantsElderly. People are discovering this remarkable band everyday. Their records only sound better as the years go on, and this is really the only place to see live footage of them.
I was sitting stage left, and that was a dramatic, rock 'n roll moment...just like when Jeff comes in with the high harmony in the third verse, "lookin' for a way out!".
The last time the original three ever played together, I'm assuming, long after Heidorn left the band. Wow awesome. RIP Uncle Tupelo. Reunion!! Ha yeah right.
Incredible-! I was there near the front on Jeff's side- never dreamed I'd see a clip of it, especially 14 years (geez we're gettin old) later.. many thanks. ***** (they BOTH sang)
I just watched Tweedy, et al. on SNL tonight (they looked old and sounded like Van Morrison)... then I see this. How far apart are these two performances? Different times, places, people.
My sister (Cicero's), future wife and I were there...sitting stage left. Mike H. stepped up behind the drums, and they rocked out into history.
It was an emotional moment...when they come back in with the two-part "now it life in some kind of trap...lookin' FOR A WAY OUT...a singular rock moment.
Wow. If i could crawl into my iPad and be in that crowd ...

Mississippi Nights. Miss them, Loved them and still believe that the sum was much greater than the parts.

Jay and Jeff seem to be getting along here.

If this is their last show, then no, they certainly were not getting along.

I saw em' three times back in the 90's. Great band, songs, energy, two singers
I wish they can get back together. More exciting than what they've done since

I came to the UT party after they broke up, mostly because of Son Volt. This is my all time favorite UT song - thanks for posting.

@bridgeplayaken Yep--this is one great song. Jay Farrar and Crazy Horse!

I'll take this one every time, twice on Sunday.
