@kerwintate just caught a nice sized trigger fish and small skipjack approx. 5 lb. using 12 pound line, size 1 hooks and a 8' 1/2 penn graphite. we grilled both. always more delicious when you caught it! im going to start octopus fishing, we caught a few on accident recently.
@kerwintate i was back out here today, no fish :( they did destroy a few of our lures though. I did catch a nice sized skipjack there a few months back, got any tips? nothing seems to be working, we've used hard lures, soft lures, shrimp, and even squid now. it might just be because of how damn choppy it is. thanks for posting vid. good luck on future fishing.
bad water normally equates to bad fishing. there's a tolerance to how much chop your gear can stand before it all turns into a waste of time. sadly, this is the big fish season, but it just so happens that its also bad water season. timing becomes everything. keep in touch!
You should try live e'e off Jonestown I see giant jacks when I spearfish there, plenty sharks too! I can't wait till baby dogtooth season, they make the best bait

mark used a plastic lure. we got lucky with this one. as for eating, we cooked it in coconut milk.
