zhucci is saying that led zeppelin stole the song from "The Who". And there are rumors that led zeppelin stole most of their music from bands that opened for them. But they still kick ass and referenced LOTR in a song.
I disagree Karoly34, I especially like this version as the acoustic guitar sounds so prominent and is so masterfully articulated - it was this song so many years ago that showed me the real potential of acoustic guitar in the rock genre (that and a few Tull tunes also).
76 people must have died while listening to this song and as their lifeless head landed on the keyboard it accidentally clicked dislike. That is the only possible explination because no LIVING human being could possibly dislike this song.
@redsoxfan1324 My mom was driving me and my friend somewhere, and my friend never really listened to classic rock before. This song came on the radio...I turned it up. Lets just say my friend likes Led Zeppelin now. My job is done.
OMG! I frist saw this video in 2008, I loved it. then it was banded in YouTube Canada for the next few years. I was so upset. This morning I gave it a search try and to my greatest joy, the Ramble On "Hobbit video"!!!! :D Dude, is there anyway, I can buy this video off you for download?
@len0250 buy it on CD... most Youtube videos, including this one, have terrible audio quality. If you get a high quality version of this song, and play it high quality headphones or speakers, it will blow your mind. This version is SHIT, in terms of quality.
• Yesterday I saw Robert Plant's free performance in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park! When he sang "Ramble On" I was sitting in the hills of Speedway Meadows with my honey video taping it. It sounded great up there! But there were some visual distractions though like the girl who keeps falling and the man who slides down the hill. Funny, though. You can hear me LOL in the background.
@BandCShow11dy6 shame on you not being able to spot a joke ..c'mon man thats pretty bad mate zhucci got you hook line and sinker and a subscription to anglar times ,,,,,,i bet when you posted your comment you read it agfain and went oops
@Zhucci You are joking! It is all making sense for me at the age of 53. My boyfriend who is a professional musician missed this but absolutely loves the trilogy and the Hobbit and the Silmirillion. Thank God I paid attention, he is wigged out about it and I just love it!
@Zhucci Well, I failed the test and subsequently the course, now my address is 3615 Soup Kitchen Lane, no regrets tho' as the grub here is filling. I had, at one time, thot I was plenty smart (chuckle chuckle).
@Zhucci Hope ya can take some ribbin', 'cause when Mr. Townshend hears about your faux pax, there's gunna be broken guitar parts strewn all about and you'll have a big bump and a helluva headache to explain once you finally wake up.
@Zhucci well as a not so much of a music expert i can safly say that you are a bitt to DUMB to be a music theory "professor" seeng how you cant even hear the difrens between THE WHO AND LED ZEPPELIN
@Carlos78173 This is most definitely a Zep original and one of a number that reference LOTR. They weren't in the habit of "stealing" songs although they did rework many blues pieces such as Killing Floor, aka Lemon Song. Stealing is when you assume ownership of a piece that is not yours, and to the best of my knowledge, Zep didn't do this.
@Zhucci That is bullshit. They all knew each other from the Yardbirds and a large portion of The Who turned Jimmy Page down when he asked them to join with him. The Who sarcastically mocked the idea by saying it would be a "Led Zeppelin". Instead he formed another band eventually naming it after their comment. That's as far as they ever came to having the same songs. Maybe something sounds similar to your "genius" mind, but its simply a coincidence. Zeppelin never stole from them.
@LoafcakeX1 It's by Warner Bros 1977 it's really a good version not much adaptation that I can recall its on Amazon, wouldn't let me post a link but look it up ;)
@LoafcakeX1 Well it's the animated adaptation of Tolkien's The Hobbit, the prequel to Lord of the Rings. Still no word on when the live-action adaptation is coming out though.
All these bands contributed to the future of music, to varying degrees. However, I challenge anyone to show a guitarist's list of influences that doesn't mention Hendrix. I can also name a riff from every modern band that was ripped off from something he did. Proof positive he is the root of at least a portion of their foundation.
Sorry for the double... I left out mac and reposted everything. Your video is good. Several key moments in the song when visuals matched audio, esp in the beginning. Nice.

@Tengent but creativity is bound by the filthy jews who tell modern "musicians" what the lyrics will be, what their costume will be, what the music will sound like, and even profile the "fans" ahead of time, making it all a big marketing game. And the jews at the top get all the money and the robot on the stage just gets a salary and inputs nothing musical.
