The gorgeous blond is Patricia Denise, proud to say my ballet teacher and an amazing ballerina in the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo (then known as Alexandra Denisova) in the late 30's early 40's. She later went on to Broadway and MGM musicals as a choreographer's assistant with the likes of Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse to name a few, and sometimes as dancer/actress in films.
Carolyn Jones died too young...she was Aaron Spellings first wife...and with that connection and her great talent she probably would become a household name via TV.
Movie was o.k. Natlaie stunning as always. But overall movie doesn't pack any punch. Final resolution eerily similar to that of Splendor in the Grass.

In the first place, I doubt that he was gay, and from what I have heard and read, he was a self-absorbed,. egocentric, egomaniacal monster. As far as I'm concerned, we in the gay community don't need to claim him as our own. We have plenty who were and are talented and classy. Gene Kelly, a great talent? Absolutely! A great human being? Hardly.
I really wish this dance number would have been...oh I don't know...like 10 minutes long or something. Gene is simply one of the best dancers I have ever seen. All he has to do is move an inch, and you're hooked!
This is my mother dancing with Gene. He was an incredible man. She worked with him for years and I got the chance to grow up in his back yard. LOL

I was seven-years-old when I first saw this. And I fell in love with Gene Kelly at that moment. Now 51 years later, I love him still.

wish one could see it here in full. It is a great movie like the book is great.
We cannot find this movie here in Israel and it is lamentable
this is an important work.
