The app produces a blip/pulse noise, you could audio out a metronome from a daw and as long as you have the volume of it at an ok level (experiment) it will sync to the signal and/or shuffle.

@soundsdefygravity No just simply jack the output of your apple device to the Monotribe, I have found that you have to set the volume right on your apple device. Too quite and the Monotribe won't hear it, too loud and it will play double time etc.
I found about 70% volume from your apple device is best.
Love that you can sync the phone app to your DAW by means of midi network.
