i had a dog who caught his first squirrel. there were 2 squirrels fighting, then 1 fell down, my dog caught it.it was a baby squirrel. so then, the squirrel was crying. this happened when i was about to go to school.so then, all i saw was the dirt, and then my dog caught it.he took it in the backyard.when i got home, my grandma said that she found it. she said it was puffed up. my mom said that the dog had blood on its paw.i feel sorry for the baby squirrel
A basenji is not like any other dog. These cute adorable killers hunt lions in Africa. These little guys are more like honey badgers than dogs. When attacked basenji just spin round roll over and tear open the stomach! Seen it! Its gross & scary.
If I tried to get a fresh catch away from my basenji I'd lose a hand.
Once, mine escaped ran down a full grown deer, tackled, and tore into it! First time I've ever heard a deer scream. Lucky deer shook her off and got away, but it was a close call.
@AnnisaAyana That actually did concern me, but most of the time the dogs catch squirrels when I am not looking so there's not much that I can do about it.
you are a fuc*ing idiot. If I and my friend come at your place and beat you to dead beaucose we were hungry. Then we just realized that we arent hungry so we just felt pitty and throw you in the dumbster.
Also, my comment was more towards the JC guy for saying he was going to send the video to fish and wildlife and for the guy that posted this video to be prepared for a fine. Lol
Hahahahaha! I honestly dont mind. I think most of these ppl are taking this way too far. It's nature. But we all have opinions. Ppl don't make a big deal over others posting vids of them feeding a mouse to their pet snake. But god forbid when a dog catches a squirrel it's the end of the world.
@AshleyLM222 I am pretty sure that squirrels are considered pests and if your dog happens to catch one, I'm pretty sure that the animal control department won't be too concerned about it.
Wow, the black and white one was thrashing him! I can understand how some of you are less than enthusiastic about this video, however by the time the person filming the event started filming the squirrel was injured beyond the point that it could successfully recover. The humane thing to do was either let the dogs kill it, or kill it himself. Either way, it endured less suffering than if he had pulled the dogs off and let it die over the span of "hours", maybe even "days" It's life, get over it.
@gladitsnotme The stuff they put on television is worse (the news especially; and not the stories the lies about what our military does, etc). Get over it and fight something real
@trevor123698123 You're really funny for saying "get over it" over something SO OLD I don't even remember posting it. SEVEN MONTHS AGO?!? Sounds like YOU'RE the one who needs to get over it lmfao
@gladitsnotme Actually that has nothing to do with anything and you see stuff on television every day that is worse than this. You probably support the rape and murder of nations of little brown people because they "might be terrorists" as well. GET REAL.
My basenji would have killed that squirrel immediately, he has caught and killed several. I would save them if I had the chance like this guy did. You have to admit, it is kind of sick
Everyone can shut the fuck up, squirells aren't animals, they are pest you can go suck a dick everyone who's "hating" on this video, I would love to beat the living fuck out of everyone hating on this to an inch of their lives you pieces of fuck
this unfortunate video has given me insight to this dog, if it all comes down and we're back to living in the woods for survival I think this is the dog I want by my side,
This isn't fucking nature, it's actually some guy training dogs with human influence to slaughter animals for no purpose other than to slaughter them.
Nature would be in the wilderness with no humans around and the dogs killing for survival. Not just taking life.
Ok, I am a hunter and I think this video is awful. This is truely nature at is course. Yes, they are domesticated animals but they still have an instinct to kill and that's fine. I do have a problem with the way you just sat there and recorded it. It's not Africa where is if you were to intervene the animals would have a chance to starve to death. The worst part is watching the animal die (I hunt). I hunt for meat to feed my family. I would never let an animal suffer for my own pleasure.
I hate Tree hugger comments when i see a video like this, Its not inhumane a squirrel is like a diseased rat with a dumb tail, i even it see it on videos where the guy is feeding a mouse to a snake
@TheOuthouseMouse why didnt you just finish it off and clean it. those dogs just caught you a pound of free dog food. they provided thier own dinner. its called earning thier keep, and i encourage my dog to do that. saves me money and gets him a much more nutricious meal than kibbles and bits.
From a serious dog/animal lover here, you people talking about the dogs killing a squirrel can't be serious, that is a tad bit extreme don't ya think? I am guessing you live in the NW.
Wow, I read the comments before I watched the vid. I actually expected to tell a bunch of PETA lovers to go fuck off. But really? You guys are a bunch of fucking hicks. That's the only way I can explain your behavior.
Sure, my dogs have killed a lot! But I never let an animal suffer while cutting away to let another animal see the killing. You've got mommy or daddy issues, eh?
Lol my dog sux at biting takes 3 bites to kill a mouse.... but the injuries from the first one probly would just make him over time cus he got broken ribs or something
the fact that the dogs attacked the squirrel is in no way a brutal or inhumane thing imo. but leaving a dying animal in a trash can is. whenever I find dead or half dead animals I always call animal services. my dogs are always killing things like rodents and even coyotes. Well, coyotes when we first moved here, they quickly learned and we haven't seen any in a long time.
Yeah, it's their instincts blah blah blah. I guess it's also humans instincts to be heartless bastards and videotape shit like that. Anyone who finds this funny needs a new sense of humor, and your roomate needs to be attacked by some ferel dogs, it's their instinct ya know.
yeah but its still hurting the squirrel its obviously in pain. they came too late and its back was already broken but the humane thing to do would be to bash the squirrels head or shoot it and put it out of its misery so it doesnt have to die slowly in a garbage can.
yes...that was quite brutal...thats like seeing a guy trip and fall and film him bleed...then again can u stop all the evils of this world at once? no...not now

... in the forest they probly do, but i am willing to bet that they dont get attacked by Basenjis in the forest. they get attacked in town where they are a nuisance. "STUPID ASSHOLE LOSER!!" it applies to you more

That B&W would have killed it alot faster than the red/white. Definitely well fed dogs, they didn't have any inclination to start eating it.
Next time, the best way to dispatch the animal safely is to step on it's ribcage for a minute or two.
My basenjis hate squirrels. If they get one, it is dead in seconds. We have tree rats in my yard that are missing tails.
