  • hahah it just keeps showing them looking back

  • @bmxphenom50 its in the lyrics if you translate it to english... i believe a part of the chorus goes "haile im looking back for you, i cant do this without you" showing kenenisa's and haile's relationship as a student and master... almost as if 2 close warriors part from eachother in combat... might be scary if your teacher has always been there for you and you find yourself all of the sudden leading the front for your country

  • buen video, buena musica y buenisimos fondistas. Exitos.

  • @SuperBored10, Hi I'M Somalian myself and I do like Ethiopian people because they are polite and nice. I used to share a room with an Ethiopian lady for a year and we never had even a single argument. We lived side by side like sisters many years ago.

  • love this song! and u can see ethio's love for each other from this video..not competition. there are so many things that ethiopians can share to the world....but the only thing the world know or show about ethiopia is famine...even though it happened long time ago dat's the only thing the world know's or remember 'bout us.dat's bullshit! but no one gives a damn..cuz we got the most powerful thing that no other country will never have.......LOVE and CARE to each other.

  • The people sent us with flags and blessings if we can't win, It will be bad news.

in pain and agony, I run with you (Haile says)

so I look for you, my hero

hurry on, don't look back (Haile says)

    the nation is expectant

    ambessa Kenenisa (Lion heart Kenenisa)

    whose valour

    we shall foret never.

  • @lamrof Thank you for this...it makes me want to cry!!!

  • Doesnt help to be Kenyan and comment on a video on Bekele. But ive loved the competition over the years between Kenya and EThiopia.

  • Gebrselassie, the hero of Ethiopia!!

  • blalalala

  • Perhaps both environmental, and genetic factors can contribute to extreme human biomechanics. Most of all it is an individual bravery, and endurance under elevated stress that helps the Ethiopian athletes break their own records over and over.

  • I can't believe most views come from ethiopia and sudan @.@

  • Who knows? If you are ABLE TO DO SCIENTIFICELY, do so.

Can not wait to see your result.

  • Why is it that the one of the poorest countries in the world keeps winning long distance running? Could there be a correlation between poverty and long distance running?

  • genetics...

  • Perhaps. Many of these world class runners from Ethiopia & Kenya (including Haile) credit their success to running several miles to and from school everyday when they were young.

  • one of the highest country, genetics, strong training , way of life. For example Haile gebreselassie had 10 km to school. He was running from 5 y old.

  • yes, it´s an intersting question. I think that running is the only sport that doesn´t require money investement to participate. The real top 10 athletic in long distance earn really good money. Partly is motivation and parlly must be genetic advantage.

  • who is the old man at 0:40?

  • Yifter

  • cant touch geb

  • good job bekele u really are a good runner god bless africa and the whole world!!!!!!! <3

  • Great Runner, Great Song!!!!!

  • @tisape890 Thanks so much! May our heavenly father bless all of Africa!

  • @tisape890 thanks so much. thats the beauty of Africa

  • @tisape890 God is not real. Sorry to burst your bubble.

  • @DerrenBrown100 I suppose you have infinite knowlege to know there is no being with infinite knowlege. To be intellectually honest, you can only claim - with your limited knowledge - that you don't know if God is real.

  • ANBESSA!!!!!!

  • guys please keep this blog clean , if you

have respect for those great runners ..

and for the spirit of this sport , long distance running is just a sport , is a way

    of life.. a culture ...

  • Yes your right half the african runners featured as worlds best had to run from house to water places/shops so yh way of life..

  • those stadiums are crazy, is that the olympic stadium earlier? it's packed to the rafters! and then later, the evening stadium, is like completely empty! anyways, bekele is the best

  • the video express the solid cooperation of our runners and their best team work achievements. It also indicates that the aggressiveness of the runners not to let any one in the medal list except abesh and to bring the green flood on board.

  • Ethiopian Runners Rule... #1

  • i really like the song and the video, but i can´t understand it. does anyone know where to find the lyrics (translated), or can anyone post it here? that would be really nice, thanks

  • ...The Athens 10000m was truly an enthralling race... more than a race, but symbolic of something even greater, as the song demonstrates

  • wonderfully said!! KENENISA BEKELE is the worlds greatest runner!!!!

  • Much love from a runner from Ireland. Beautiful song and video clips.

  • that's right teddy even if we don't win we came here to run...

  • Obama is not for you

  • Can someone please tell what the lyrics are in English? I enjoy this song so much!

  • Basically it begins with the Ethiopian people proudly sending their runners to "battle;" the refrain is Kenenisa/ Sihine saying sorry to "the father of their dreams" (Haile Gebreselassie) for leaving him behind (in Athens 10000m); in the second refrain, Gebreselassie sort of says responds saying, "Go on, the people want this victory." The Athens 10000m was truly an enthralling race... more than a race, but symbolic of something even greater, as the song demonstrates.

  • Ethiopian we are the best.I meet Kennenisa in Senegal and he is very hamble person

  • Is there a way you can interpret this song. I love it anyways, but I would really like to know what Teddy is saying. I know it is very special.

  • The song's original title is "Tarik Tesera" which is amharic and means "History was made" in english (you can hear him saying that at 4:32) . It was written as a tribute to Kenenisa Bekele after he won the 2004 olympic 10 000 meters (you probably already guessed that already).

Teddy is also drawing lines from Kenenisa to Abebe Bikila, the first Ethiopian ever to win an olympic gold medal in 1960, by showing clips of Bikila throughout the vid - another time when "History was made".

  • 4:35 and 4 :46 are really special. Proud of our runners. May God Bless our country.

  • kennenisa is best i´m happy for him i´m from eritrea but he is still my brother and every body know that he is the best;)

  • yo 4:35 is the best! much love

  • That's my favorite part too, old man can get down, I keep replaying that part.

  • Teddy afro live long he is the best singer in horn africa.....he wrote the lyric day before the game

  • YES! You are right! ... Gash Tileye is great too! ( : .. but teddy is REALLY special.

.. he actually wrote the lyrics right after the game. but still he is amazing for doing it so quick and making the lyrics so meaningful!

  • luv this song

    ahhhh

    teddy is so cool

  • I love kenenisa Bekele even though am eritrean.

I like him in the spirit of sportsmanship

  • I like kennenisa too, but I was REALLY impressed with Zeresenay's sportsmanship. He is so polite. He didn't want to pass Gash Haile G/s , because I think he admires him, but Haile was injured so he told him it's ok, go ahead. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MOMENT!!!

  • SO proud that PM Meles & Obama are working together:

ie..the special invitation for Meles at the

G-20? not only did Meles get the 39bn for Africa from IMF; but to his surprise it was tripled to 1.1 trillion for all!!

MP Meles for months had spoken forcefully not to forget all the new developing economies that are being affected by this downfall economy..

well not only did he have Obama's ear!

OBAMA put his weight on it and the rest will be history!

    Tu-TA..tu-ta

    Eto-Eri/Africa Tikdem::

  • ...hopefully Meles will spend some of that on imprving human rights....

  • Fantastic

  • What a wonderful touching video and song. This is an effective video that shows the passion and respect Africans have to each other to the sport and their country. What a contrast from the selfish, arrogant mess we have in the west, not to mention doping and other crap.

  • ANBESSAAA
