It's true - some of the songs on her album were recorded when she was just 20 and her voice has just got better in the last four years. And the big note just goes on for longer most every show she does.

Rockferry's her first album - how did you learn about her 4 years ago? You went to a concert of hers or what (as I know she'd not even sung along with a band till then)?

vagador - the rockferry track was recorded in 2004, so the voice you are hearing on the record for that track is her voice when she was 20.

Duffy did sing with a band before this Radio Two session - little bands in Wales, on the Wawffactor TV show in 2003, she even recorded with Mint Royale who have the current UK number 1. I guess Radio 2 was her first public performance with her current band.  She did do a little tour of Ireland with some of them before this in 2007 though.

I went speechless when I read your reply. Her singing for BBC Radio 2 seems so much unforged and unadulterated as distinct from that one in her album (which seems audibly cultivated). According to someone who's not followed her creative life as you have, it'd rather be the opposite.
