job corps is a piece of shit i went for a year there got kick out a security called me a spic nd i defended myself but because the second head of the school didnt like me cuz of the same shit she kicked me out but because i went to delgen the sponser of the school they got scared i put them out so they brought me back nd got away with what ever! i say if it werent for the ppl i meet there i would have gone crazy. gainseville J.C 2010-2011! dont ever go there that school is fallin apart bad staff

I wish job corps wasnt so strict otherwise id do it. Im guessing its because there are some teenagers/young adults who would take advantage of the freedoms like open campus, getting to go places when done with class, etc. Like a real college. I could deal with the dorms (errr sucky but still, i hate rooming with people and crappy beds), deal with cleaning up, deal with class everyday, but not have freedom to leave when i want, or have boys in the dorm, id die. lol too bad ppl make it like this

I went to this Job Corp 16 or so years ago. It was quite the experience. I was there for 18 months, graduated from painting (IBPAT), and stayed in the Challenger dorm. Lot's of funny and crazy stories.

1. You chances of leaving campus vary from each centre, depending on the remoteness of your centre.

2. Cell Phones are probably allowed in every res centre off training hours. There will likely be trouble for having your cell out. The punishment will vary.

3. Yes, you are likely to have to wear a uniform, aka Standard of Dress. Your attire depends on what your doing.

4. Family-Probably yes; Friends-No, you'd be able to visit them via wknd pass or such.

Wow thanks for the tour boy did that bring back memories although alot has changed it is still the same I went there in 91-92 graduated from business and went straight to work for the department of labor. The time I spent in Cascade JC were some of the best times of my life. I was in white water, shout out 2 my gilrs pumpkin, p-nut, heather, renea, michelle, roxy, jenifer, sherrell P. and everyone else holla if you was there with me! I went to and graduated from this JC back in 91. Seems like forever ago. I was there for around 18 months. My dorm was Challenger and my trade was painting. When I arrived there, the remodeling of the dorms had just started. A lot of stuff has been remodeled and built since then so needless to say, its much more comfortable there than it used to be. Anyway, it was an overall good experience and I would recommend going if you have the opportunity.

AYO this is THE BOSS ...I wanna thank all of you who posted good hearted comments and questions...Job Corps was set up to help 16-24 year old Men and Women..notice I did not say children ....we at Job Corps strive to teach those who want to learn...There are private showers and not all JC centers are the same but JC is what you make of it ...I have trained many young adults most do very well after they graduate.some get kicked out for poor choices..but all leave with life changing expieriences..

sorry to post a blind comment but im AT job corps so i cant use any sreaming video, columbia basin has no rats, mold, pealing pain or filth, but your fellow classmates will be reletively uneducated and ignorant. many cannot look past their racial barriers and feel superior because of skin color. but past that, most instructors are reasonable or at least tolorable and the dorms comfortable. I myself attended NTJCC and i must say, you guys have us BEATEN by a long shot! NTJCC was a total waste of my time as a HIGH SCHOOL GRAD because of all of the ignorance and unprofessionalism....its sad when even the teachers are in need of education....they were rude, the center was GROSS! mold, peeling paint, the cafe had flies, rats, it was terrible!
