With my foot I'm going to smear, which means pushing. Hahahahahahahahahaha and that's not a dynamic move. U just cut ur feet. Big deal. These videos are terrible.
Bouldering and top rope are two different things...
It's not "training"... Bouldering requires more strength and is a type of climbing on its own, where-as top rope/lead climbing requires more endurance.
@organicfs I sort of agree here. The title led me to believe he would be discussing the pros and cons and, possibly, when to use both styles, but it was basically just a moving definition of both techniques. Good definition, though. I just want longer videos with more content.
@theantagonist94 I dunno, I stuck with bouldering for 6 months straight and then found my sport climbing had gone from 5.8's to 5.10's and some low level 5.11's
I agree, though, bouldering really is a different animal and being a star at bouldering doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be an instant badass at top-roping, lead-climbing, etc. Still, I think it would e foolish to say that it doesn't help. Besides, many of the bouldering techniques are the same as those used for sport climbing.
saying that bouldering is training for top rope is like saying ping pong is training for tennis...

Bouldering is a sport in it's own right, not for training to get better at top rope, or lead climbing!
