  • One of Tim Curry's most epic villains! <3 it!

  • @SouthardJon yes we do

  • Damn that devil son of a bitch is hot

  • if tim curry was the devil then who in gods name was his father ....oh i see lol very naughty

  • The lord of darkness sitting in his throne talking to his demons x

  • that devil costume looks so cool, except for those horns! they're TOO big, comically even, and it just takes away from his evilness look when i see him

  • I use to have nightmare when I was a kid.

  • @VickieFan1 same here this movie scared the shit out of me when i was a kid, never knew what the film was when i was 4, and only recently discovered it like today, very very strange.

  • the effects still look really good considering how old the film is

  • one word HOT! <3 LOL if the devil was like that xD wooohhoo still hasn't changed since i last watched it : )

  • billy zane is good but tim is darkness

  • Remake this movie and cast Billy Zane as Darkness!

  • 4:55 I like the way he says "ger-mi-nates" : D

  • So you accept me "love"

  • Tim Curry has a very sexy portrayal of this..... it's pretty cool... LOVE!!!!

  • Never has a movie looked so good and been so horrible. Tim Curry is the only reason to watch this train wreck of a film.

  • "I want to kill the unicorn"

Tim Curry literally jizzes in his costume.

  • so this is what hell look like !!!!

  • This was during Ridley Scotts golden 80`s = BEAUTIFULL films

before he hit the big time with -Gladiator- later in his career .

    1 of my fave directors.

  • this movie gave me nightmares when i was a kid lol...

  • I have to say this is what I always pictured the devil to look like... No CGI, just great special effects and acting - Tim Curry has always thrown himself into every role that I've seen him do...

  • Vote this up if you think Tim Curry looks like Samael from Darksiders, or really any fan art portraying him.

  • for a devil lord of darkness has game :) he can talk lmao

  • Lilly really needs a shower.

  • Not played as the Prince of Darkness by a longshot, but Tim still manages one of the best devils ever in this pop cult offering.

    Timmayyy <3 XD

  • @Wikipunani This wasn't meant to be a portrayal of Satan as far as I know. The Lord of Darkness is an entity apart from the God vs. Satan dynamic. I mean would Satan have to get seduction advice from what I'm assuming is his father or mother who lives in the fireplace. I always interpreted the LoD as a part of a pantheon of beings that predate the creation of the Universe and who want to take the universe back to that pre-"let there be light" existence.

  • @Fbueller129 I LOVE that interpretation. The whole "fireplace chat" dynamic somewhat pissed on the whole "Yeah I'm Darkness! hands in the air!" Alpha Male mojo. So did your entire analysis, I have to admit.

Mebbe a castrated sub-pantheon vibe was what the apparently forgettable tale was all about after all.

Much less impressive as a story if its so, I must admit.

If Light is Personified, so must Darkness, after all.

And one cannot get more epic than that.

  • *Whew*...I know Tim Curry is gay and all...but he was sooo sexy in this movie and that laugh!! So evil yet sexy as hell...does this count as beastality? Hahha...since...he is an animal.

  • @wolfhime21 He isn't gay....

  • @Kie10McC He isn't? Wow then my friend misinformed me, sorry! Well..he's still awesome if he IS or NOT. :)

  • This kinda reminds me about lunch yesterday I spent with the girl I like. Alot of the same things were spoken about. Except damn u mortals, and everything about a unicorn.

  • 7:50 What did he say?

  • @Smael64 Something about the caterers being a bunch of lemurs, I believe. Not pleased.

  • @Smael64 "Sit! Damn you!"

  • damn... he made me scared to go to sleep

  • I SOOOO WANT THAT DRESS!!!! <3

  • @Dietrichsgrlforlife if you find it could i come and see you twirl around in it `lol

    no seriously...

    lol

  • @11rabbitz Sure ok! LOL

  • @Dietrichsgrlforlife lol` i might have to find it for you Now.

  • ya know.... for a homosexual Devil... I thing the whole thing worked.

  • 8:34-8:40

    He jizzed in his pants

  • I want a living room like that one!

  • Tim Curry... The BEST actor in this movie! It must've been a bitch in the make up chair tho'.

  • did you cut out the scene where he talks of his love? real bummer.....

is see where it's supposed to be. yeah--you cut it out?!! he says "through dreams i infulence mankind.." at 7:03 you cut out the other half. he continues with something like "..I offer you this rose as a token of my love." to wish she replies "..LOVE?"

  • @MrShaun42088 * to which she replies..

  • I always thought it was a big black guy dressed as the devil. Tim currey...OMG.

  • dude he is a bad azz.... his horns are fuken awsome...

  • The Lord of Darkness turns me on OMG! I am getting moist! ROTFL! he is quite the sexy beast!

  • @maleficentdiva what is wrong with you?

  • @derekvalo CALM DOWN! LOL!

  • @DeadmansWoman guess so! lol that's okay though.... ;D

  • The Lord of Darkness and Satan are one in the same. Although the movie did not explicitly say it, it certainly inferred it. Just pay attention to the movie, all the elements are there...unicorns represent purity and love, and Lord of Darkness wants to destroy them. Lilly represents Eve, and Tom Cruise, Adam. Once again, it was Eve who was seduced by temptation by touching the unicorn (which was forbidden), which led to its eventual death. But at the end, love wins and so does goodness!

  • Jack Nicolson eyebrows ftw

  • he sounds a bit like Alan Rickman

  • I guess its easy to say here but Ill say it anyway, If I was her id sit and talk - so mr devil is it? oh hehe ok Brian, tell me about yourself, lord of evil ey, cool, must be a full time job huh. so um oh no thanks black wine goes straight to my head hehe wowow dont u throw an angre tantrem on me no means no !! what r u gonna do? keep me here forever huh well U may be the ruler of hell, but u dont know the meaning of living hell! Brian I am talking to you!! what u thougt u could buy me ?? hehe

  • The only Tom Cruise movie I love. Yes, even he gets a break for this one ;) Amazing movie~

  • Blessed Princess

  • just awesome!

  • I love his voice. I dont care who he is I would marry him because of his voice.

  • Where cani download this movie tho?!..

  • Hellboy's daddy lol

  • Brilliant. We need more villains like Darkness in movies!

  • Omg there must be something wrong with me.......in some parts, when i can tell it's Tim, i actually think that satan is........sexy XD wow. thats Tim's influence, i guess! lol

  • 5:10 the Lord of Darkness is an evolutionist.

  • he wants her bc she has a pure heart to corrupt!

gulp! that line is the scariest of all!!

  • This really reminds me of the Roman god Hades and his want for Persephone

  • the music makes me think of Nox Arcana. so pretty!

  • @Chesxs The music is actually composed by Tangerine Dream. They're awesome. They even did music for the movie Fright Night.

  • @dreamchild81 Yup.Been a Tangerine Dreamer for quite some time. Risky Buisness ST also (Love on a real train)

  • The music of her dancing reminded me of ICO.

  • The movie is awesome, lord of darkness is an awesome character. But thats all he is, GOD and the DEVIL dont exist.....its very short sighted for any human being to think so. Especially when the concept of each are man made creations based on very primitive knowledge of our universe.

  • @GRANDSTYLE166 Thank you for your insight. Now, after reading your comment, I realize that my entire life has been a lie and my beliefs have been wasted on childish fantasies. Thank you for freeing me from the burden of belief in a greater good.

Btw, this movie is about unicorns.

  • The fist scene must be a deleted scene. I dont remember it

  • @destroyer8604 there's a fisting scene ? hahahahaha

  • @destroyer8604 - I think a director's cut came out a few years ago.

  • only Tim curry could pull off this roll, he can be a man, dragqueen, a devil, or wat not lol.

  • Is it me, or does the Lord of Darkness look just like Frollo from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame?

  • i hate all the choking noises she makes, it irritates me

  • 8:34-8:50 One of the greatest evil laughs ever.

  • @Fistwagon I agree If it is not one of the greatest it IS the greatest evil laugh. Shit Darkness gave me nightmares when I was a child. No one could do it better than Tim Curry.

  • forget hellboy

  • I have a question, who is 'Satan' talking to when he refers to something as his Father? God would be his Father, but God wouldn't give him the tools to take control over the world.

  • @e3hammer That isn't Satan it's the Lord of Darkness. His Father is the Lord of Shadows.

  • "this guuwl" lol

  • "I have found my true mate ... and you know it. ... I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!"

  • wow! im the lord of darkness but i dont look like that thing! hes kinda disgusting.

  • I might watch this again before going to bed. Just one of those movies I just had to get on dvd!! The Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth are my other 2 favs from the 80s.

  • I remember when I was about 6 and when the demon stepped out of the mirror for the first time I had to run and peek from behind the sofa! So good it scared me and I wasnt that easily scared when I was a kid! In my top 3 movies of the 80s!!

  • While the villian of this movie was pretty cool... He was still quite stupid to let Lily trick him and free the unicorn. Love blinds us all, even the evil ones.

  • @DevilWomanCake

    lily=lilith

  • what a good movie.

  • ask Tom, this is before "special effects"...that was a fun one. Are you sure you know all about Improve? You don't remember the most magical movie that made PERFECTLY NO GOD DAMN SENSE...aint our baby pretty? That made you think hard about time?

  • ask Tom, this is before "special effects"...that was a fun one. Are you sure you know all about Improve? You don't remember the most magical movie that made PERFECTLY NO GOD DAMN SENSE...aint our baby pretty?

  • ask Tom, this is before "special effects"...that was a fun one. Are you sure you know all about Improve?

  • ask Tom, this is before "special effects"...that was a fun one.

  • Did anyone notice that the two principle characters of this movie have the same initials, T.C. Tom Cruise and Tim Curry!

  • Actually this is Hellboy's older, meaner brother! LOL

  • le rawr....rawr.

  • The Lord of Darkness made this movie awesome, and Tim Curry did a fantastic job.

  • @Sarahmajig Tim Curry really is the whole movie lol. I mean they could make a movie of just him as the lord of darkness sitting in his throne talking to his demons and it would just look so Shakesperin people would be mezmerrized.

  • @IIIJFRIII they should make a dark humor sitcom out of it

  • @IIIJFRIII Can't agree. I think his Darkness character is a one-note flute that'd burn out in about a half hour. The psyche he's displayed has the depth of a kiddie pool; I really don't believe Curry has a grasp on how an Arch-devil thinks, much less the slithering Prince of all of them.

  • Reminds me of Dungeon Keeper's horned reaper

  • You Tube used to have the original version of this movie that included Jerry Goldsmith's score. Has it been removed??

  • Oh, and if you are part puertoriqueño and you say you have a "tight muscular" ass, that means you must work out. So, what's your exercise regimen? (That's an honest question, too).

  • @EmperadorElijah I workout 4 times a week (I have a gym in my basement) and to achieve my sculpted rump (titter, titter), I do squats, 3 sets of 10 pyramid style. I think at 42, I'm still in pretty good shape. However, what God giveth, can be taken away, so I take nothing for granted and keep the hubris on the back burner.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan. Awesome! I'm going to have to try that regimen!!

  • @EmperadorElijah Well you are in your 20's so it will be much easier for you. I've been working out since I was in my teens, during college and my days in the Marines. The only problem I have now is my bad back so I've decrease my workouts from 2 hours to 1 hour (4 days a week) depending upon what exercises I'm doing.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan. It's amazing that Liberals will attack and accuse Christians of hate-mongering and other bizarre (yet false) charges. Granted, we are all Human, so no one is perfect. But, when I conversed with you, I did so whilst being cordial yet firm concerning my Christian beliefs and knowledge. Just so you know, I don't hate you. It just would be nice to converse with people about differences of opinion without including hate or false accusations. Surely you are better than that.

  • ...And I am not a Roman Catholic, so "pontificating" is something I DO NOT do. Besides, Catholicism is one of many fronts for the Illuminati. And, it's "we pagans," not "us pagans." LOL.

  • @EmperadorElijah All right, then quit EVANGELIZING in this room and leave WE pagans alone. Is that good enough for you or am I being OBTUSE. Duhhhhh, uh I learned that word from "Shawshank Redemption!" LOL

  • @kalimaganeshshivan. Just so you know, the actor who says that is Bob Gunton. When he played the police chief in Demolition Man (1993), he looked like a live-action version of the 1990's Batman cartoon portrayal of Mr. Freeze. With a shaved head and eyeglasses, he even looks like Cogswell Cogs from the Jetsons. Just my opinion...

  • @EmperadorElijah Actually Tim Robbins character said "obtuse" first in the movie and because he said it, he was put in solitary confinement.

  • @EmperadorElijah Furthermore the proponents of Christianity, Christendom and Islam (except Sufism) can kiss my tight muscular brown Puerto Rican/ Eastern Indo-Parsi Hindu/Zoroastrian ASS! THIS GOES DOUBLE FOR YOU! Good day friend! LMFAO

  • So, when people talk about extraterrestrial beings, they are not far from the truth... In the Bible, Satan's kingdom is in the air, the atmosphere. Ephesians 6:12: "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." From the air, it is very easy to distract and deceive people into seeing wonders, especially if they are not of Earth...

  • @EmperadorElijah I believe that when Enoch took his night journey with the Angel Gabriel into the 7 levels of heaven, he witnessed the black hole in the center of our galaxy. It gives a vivid account in both the Bible and the gnostic Book of Enoch as well. In that black hole resides true death or the final death that mankind will experience one day.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan. Humankind will only experience death like that, Hell, only if they are unrepentant. And the thing able the Book of Enoch is that it gives details about the Nephilim and hybrid giants. Enoch is a Biblical character, the seventh of the ten pre-flood Adamite patriarchs. So, during the times before the Deluge, he was a witness to the wickedness in humanity God later warns he will destroy. He chronicled more details about the offspring of the "sons of God and daughters of men."

  • @EmperadorElijah I personally take full responsibility for my actions when it comes to desires of the flesh, which I thoroughly and arrogantly enjoy! I mean, what red-blooded male doesn't enjoy having sex with as many women as possible. You call yourself a Judeo-Christian but that doesn't make you any less of a hypocrite. Usually the ones who preach the loudest sin the most, so take your bible thumping into some other appropriate room for this type of pontificating and leave us Pagans alone.

  • @kalimaganeshshiva. Dear Friend, I am not preaching to you nor am I forcibly imposing Christianity down your throat. And, I do not appreciate you "bearing false witness against me" for simply educating you on the Truth concerning Biblical accounts of Satan's plans. And, just so you know, I do not attend church because most congregations these days do not "teach" the pure Gospel of Christ. And, basically everyone is a hypocrite because we are all sinners, so I don't take offense to that charge.

  • All I request is that if people are teachable, then let them be open-minded enough to learn. I will always defend Christianity because I know within the core of my being WITHOUT any mental reservations whatsoever what is true and what is false. Human beings are the greatest victims of sin, so yes, it is easy to fall prey to deception, especially within this current world order. All I was doing for you was connecting the dots so you can see the bigger picture to it all.

  • uuu sexy voice has that devil

  • SIT!!!... or stand..

  • this movie is legend

  • So, the names Lucifer and Satan are used interchangeably in Christendom and elsewhere ultimately noting they are one and the same being: the Devil. Satan is known by many names including Be-el-zebub, Baal, the Dragon, that ancient serpent, etc...

  • @EmperadorElijah You're wrong. All of these myths are based on ancient Sumerian, Mesopotamian, Babylonian, Persian, Egyptian and Roman/Greco beliefs however you're basing everything on Hebrew & later Christian dogma making these beings seem evil & animalistic when really they represent the wild, primitive nature of man and womankind. Hollywood has stylized & have degraded the true meaning behind these myths and legends making them into something ugly instead of celebrating the ancient past!

  • @kalimaganeshshivan. I am a Judæo-Christian, I know what is right and what is wrong. Satan is EVIL. And, anyone who doesn't believe him to be is dangerously naive. So, maybe "Darkness" in the sense of the motion picture story is based from a heathen god from a pagan culture. But, ultimately, as far as good and evil is concerned, it's God versus Satan. Satan is the quintessential EVIL being, God's total adversary, the father of lies...

  • @kalimaganeshshivan. ...And just so you know, alot if not all of those pagan mythology stories are actually true. That sounds weird for a Christian to say that, but Biblically speaking, it is NOT AT ALL far-fetched. Most of those "other worldly gods" are actually Satan's minions, his fallen angels, the Nephilim. In Old Covenant days, 2000 to 6000 years ago, the Nephilim corrupted the human race creating Giants (Anakim, Philistines, Canaanites, etc.).

  • @kalimaganeshshivan. God sent the Great Flood or the Deluge, (1656 years after the Fall of Man, as of 2010, 4354 years ago), the human race, except the pure bloodline of Adam [Noah and his family] were wiped out. Following the Flood, the Giants reappeared again. Prior to the Flood and after, the Nephilim under Satan's direction, corrupted animal life as well creating hybrid monsters. For example, "lion-like men" are chronicled in II Samuel 23:20.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan. This satanic hybridization program was intended in Satan's mind, to prevent the birth of the Redeemer through the Adamic human race. After the Fall of Man in the garden east of Eden, God promised to provide a remedy for sin in the world by sending a Messiah to save humankind from the grip of sin and its father, the Devil. Skeletons as tall as 8.5 to 36 feet tall have been uncovered in all inhabitable continents in especially in places where there are pyramids...

  • @kalimaganeshshivan. Native cultures called and worshiped these beings as "gods" and served them either voluntarily or by force. Given the nature of these fallen angels and the angel-human hybrids, it was more and likely by force given their size and abilities. All the cultures you mentioned have accounts in written or pictorial form proving the existence of these giants, animal hybrids, and the ancient cities and structures they themselves built. All of this is BIBLICAL, too!!!

  • @EmperadorElijah You're referring to the Watchers, the Annunaki and their off-spring with the "daughters of men" the Nephilim. You should read Zecharia Sitchin's books and "Chariot of the Gods".

  • @EmperadorElijah I believe in God, but I don't believe in Satan because God gave us free will. Satan is a scapegoat designed by men to have something to blame their evil ways on to alleviate themselves from guilt.

  • Tim Curry is just...legendary

  • Thanks for uploading this onto youtube

  • @piankhy123 It was my pleasure.

  • @piankhy123 It was my pleasure.

  • i grow up with this fim , im from 86 and i still love it :-)

  • I must say: They picked the perfect man for the role....Curry is like one of the best antagonists EVER!

  • Who is the voice the dark lord is speaking too?

  • @Soothfish. "Darkness" (Tim Curry) is speaking with Lucifer, also known as Satan. Although "Darkness" looks like the common interpretation of Satan, the Devil, his character is actually a mere demon, or "fallen angel" and not Satan himself. If you notice throughout the film, Darkness is constantly referring to and reverencing his "father." This clue is enough to convince the audience that he is 'under the authority' of a being higher than him.

  • @EmperadorElijah I thought Lucifer was Satan's father?

  • @SPeacock Lucifer is just another name for Satan.

  • @SPeacock. Like MasterKickArse says above, Lucifer is just another name for Satan. In the Biblical and "only" reliable source on the story of Satan, Lucifer was in charge of the mercy seat in Heaven. Lucifer was the grandest of all God's angelic beings. Lucifer was part of the angelic beings called Cherubim. His "origin" story is chronicled in the Books of Isaiah and Ezekiel. When Lucifer (Latin for Light-Bearer) saw his beauty, he became filled with pride...

  • ...and he even attempted to overthrow Almighty God from His own throne. In Isaiah 14:12-14- (KJV) "...I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God..." God gave Lucifer an opportunity for redemption, but he absolutely refused. God wasn't going to allow rebellion in His Kingdom, so he expelled Lucifer from Heaven including one-third of angels that chose to willing join his side. Lucifer's name was changed to Satan (Adversary), and he is God's ultimate opponent.

  • @EmperadorElijah The Lord of Darkness is actually a god named Erebus who is described as the night and the Lord of Shadows & Shades (Hades/Pluto). His father is Chaos (the voice speaking) & his mother is called Nyx. Nyx had many children besides Erebus; Thanatos (Death), Momus (Blame), Moros (Doom), Charon (The Ferryman to the Underworld) and Eris (Strife). There were others but they are to numerous to mention. This movie, "The Lord of Darkness", is based on the myth of Hades & Persephone.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan this movie is not called "the lord of darkness!" it is called legend...the devil is called "the lord of darkness".

  • @johnm8h Oops, my bad! I was so focused on Tim Curry's stellar character that I forgot the title. You can understand why I made that mistake.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan one who was cast down...the father of lies...lucifer or loser what ever his name is...good will always be more powerful simply because its warriors are always prepared to sacrifice MORE!!!

  • @apollonas101 "ONE DAY ALL SEVEN WILL DIE!"

  • @kalimaganeshshivan EVIL WILL BE CRUSHED!!! FOR EVEN LUCIFER FEARS THE HAND OF HE THAT CONSTRUCTED THE UNIVERSE AND ALL IN IT...... AND THE WARRIORS CHOSEN BY THE MOST HIGH WILL BE GIVEN ALL THE POWER NECESSARY TO ELIMINATE AND STRIKE AT EVIL AND BRING IT TO ITS ''KNEES''....AT LAST

  • @apollonas101 You know, to despise evil as much as you do, you certainly have a love Jones for boxing (I visited you channel). Do you take pleasure in seeing two men pummel each other into a bloody pulp? Kind of makes you a hypocrite when you speak of the "ultimate destruction of evil", when you lust after a blood sport such as boxing! Don't preach to me, because I'm extremely well versed at exposing hypocrisy. NOW, GO SUCK DON KING'S DICK! LOL

  • Comment removed

  • @kalimaganeshshivan boxing is but sport and that to which what ever feeling is held just''in which case free will...an aspect or action can be fulfiled with or with out bad feeling just as David defeated goliath in the name of truth and goodness..in the eyes of God' so to shall we ...contend in life, no matter which walk it takes us..we have free will to do unjustly or just....i cant and will not rise to your inferior one dementional point of view...i feel sorry and indeed pray for you

  • @apollonas101 Whatever gets you through the night! Take care and God bless!

  • @apollonas101 Furthermore, you refer to me as having a one dimensional (By the way, you misspelled it) point of view. Have you read any of my comments in this room describing "The Lord of Darkness" or my other statements about God, the Devil, Christendom & other subject matter? My friend, I'm a tenured professor of ancient languages, philosophy, religions, & mythologies. Your mind is milquetoast compared to that of a punchdrunk gorilla & guess what, the gorilla still has the upper hand! LOL

  • @kalimaganeshshivan i apologise for misspelling....and to be honest i have'nt read any of your other comments regarding the loser or lord of darkness...and quite frankly i realy dont need to....simply because one or two of your comments regarding him are ...very inaccurate, and weather your Professor or a rocket Scientist, it realy'' bares NO'' significance to religeon or the relationship of its Components!! for this my friend you need to study theology, of which i have and have deep knowledge

  • They cut out the part where he says "Sit" and there's something crawling around on the chair waiting to take her innocence...

  • lord of darkness looks like michelle obama.

  • @shackle5 Wow shackle... that was not nice at all.

  • @shackle5 And I'm sure that Michelle and I will agree that your face looks like the back of a pig's ass

  • The face Darkness makes at 8:35 when she says she wants to kill the unicorn...you can just tell he automatically gizzed his, boiling, acidic demon seed all over his pants.

  • @hwagner81 wasnt a movie version was a animated version that was done in the 80's called Peter Pan and the Pirates- Tim Curry voiced Captain Hook- and did an awesome job of it too! Youtube it! :)

  • Wow.....now i love Tim Curry even more- he's such a legend!!! i was there watching this thinking nah its not him.....and then he laughed and i was like yea thats him- from Captain Hook to IT to Home Alone 2 !!!! He is awesome!!!!

  • I remember when I went to see Weird Science and they showed the movie trailer to Legend in the theater; when I saw the red Lord Of Darkness character at the very end of the trailer, I knew I wanted to see this movie... Seriously, that's the only reason I wanted to see this flick. I just thought that "devil" looked soooo cool!

  • This movie is actually based loosely on the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone without her mother Demeter as the forlorn antagonist.

  • I remember watching this as a child and my image of The Devil from then on has always been identical to Darkness in Legend. Evil personified.
