My dad seemed less stressed when Bush was president and he voted for Clinton in the 90s, then voted for Bush 2000 & 2004 (so did my mom). Ever since Obama took office my couldn't seem to find another job. Bush im sure if you were in office now my dad would have still had a well paying job!

A big part of the problem with our economy right now started in the 70's when President Carter forced mortgage companies to give bad home loans to people who normally wouldn't qualify for a loan. President Clinton saw that no one was enforcing this new law & his Attorney General (Janet Reno) threatened to sue mortgage companies who denied home loans to people who couldn't afford them. This is the root cause of our current financial mess & there is no reason to believe that Obama will fix it!

While I share the feelings of stress that your dad is now experiencing, it may be a little early to blame Obama for your dad being unable to find a job. It will definitely be much harder to find a job under President Obama because his plans to raise taxes on everyone (regardless what he says) & the more money that goes to the government, the less there is for people to start or grow their business so they can hire people. I hope your dad finds a job quickly & that I am wrong about Obama.

I also have to say that many Americans are infact blind and naive to the agendas the Democrats have planned (Yes I live in America and I really do love it here aside from the economic crysis). Obama was the best bet the Dems had of taking the White House. There for Obama is just a tool.

There's no doubt in my mind Obama will wreck our economy and that seems to be the only major issue that everyone fought over during the election which was the economy. The only reason why Obama won was not cuz he was judged by his character or his socialist/communist agenda, but by his skin color which really frustrates me. It is Obama and his party that pretty much control congress and chose not to lock down on Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac.

Right now, Obama is thrashing around like a fish out of water because he doesn't have a clue what he is doing or how to fix this mess. Thanks for the compliment i get that a lot. I'm thinking about looking stuff up about the Louisianna Governor, Bobby Jindal. I think he could be the ticket to the Republican Party's success. All I need to know is what's he going to do and what did he did that made him such a popular Governor. I'm really going to get involved in the 2012 election and vote for Mr Jindal. Who knows Sarah Palin maybe his running Mate (if he wins the nomination or ever runs for that matter. If not then Palin.)

I like Bobby Jindal a lot. He's a very impressive candidate and one of a large number of rising stars in the Republican Party. I also agree with you that we haven't heard the last of Sarah Palin. She is a solid conservative and the fact that she drives Democrats insane is just icing on the cake. Some other important up & comers that you should keep an eye include J. C. Watts, Rick Santorum, Tim Pawlenty & Michael Steele. I'm thrilled to death that Steele is the new chairman of the RNC.

In the end, the thumping that Republicans have taken in the past two elections may have actually been for the best. We have purged a large number of weak career politicians from office and made room for a new generation of leaders to carry us into the future. You may agree or disagree with me on some of the candidates I listed above, but you should look each of the up and make up your own mind. I would welcome the opportunity to debate the pros and cons of each person with you if you would like.

Michael Steele is just great. Hearing that he's leading the GOP is great news. But a lot of black democrats call the republican hypocrits to an extent where they say "Get rid of the white man" or "Michael Steele is just a prop" and they even give comments like this "I hope Obama kicks the white man from America"

The problem with that is that there are amendments which these people ignore and there for they should be re-educated from middle school. I am proud to see Mike run our party!

I don't think you have any idea what true socialism is. What Obama spoke of redistributing wealth is anything but a skeletal version of the practice. In this country, socialism is looked as a force of evil. Under socialism, free market still exists. In fact, the free market is used as a tool to gain economic wealth and capital. What differs with a socialist government is that the government uses its mandate to use that acquired wealth and distribute it to its citizens.

They are not the same thing. Socialism in its true manifestation respects human individuality and freedom, especially when it comes to economics. Look at western Europe. We have excellent examples in France and the UK. Both countries are esteemed to be arbiters of freedom just as much as the US. The citizens democratically elect their MP's/representatives, and those voted in decide on policies that "redistribute wealth" among the citizenry.

But you really have to examine the impact that the process has done to many of the countries in the past 20 years. The income gaps have widened so much and you begin to see the extremes between the wealthy and the poor. I had to read you statement five times to figure out what you said. Pick up an English book and read it this time! The only thing you said that is not merely an opinion "republicans give tax cut to corporation". Ignoring the numerous grammatical errors (3 by my count, a new record for a statement containing only 6 words) businesses shouldn't pay any taxes because every dollar you remove from a business is one dollar not available to hire people which always helps the economy.

Last time I checked, the "Filthy Rich" pay the vast vast majority of the taxes, so it makes sense that they should get the bulk of the tax refunds as well. That's what a refund is afterall, a refund of money you already paid in taxes. As for extending freedom, growing the economy & creating jobs, he did that. Failures with the other items explain why his poll numbers are so low. His problem is not that he acted too much like a Republican, but that he acted too much like a Democrat.

Fair taxes would be where we pick a percentage (15%, 20%) and everyone pays that amount. One could also make a logical case for charging the poor more on their taxes because they are the one's that take advantage of all the programs. As for the recession, the technical definition of a recession is "2 consecutive quarters of negative growth". Since we haven't had even one quarter of negative growth, you're wrong about that as well.

As for the Clinton economy; there are only 2 reasons things went well during the Clinton years, and Clinton had nothing to do with either of them. 1) Republicans controlled the House and the Senate, they controlled spending and prevented any nutty liberal bills (like Hillary Care) from going to the President. It's a shame that Republicans started acting like Democrats after Bush got elected, which is why their approval rating is so low & why this should be Obama's year, but that's another issue.
