  • Ian Paice,Quite Possibly The Best Rock Drummer Ever.Absolutely In The Top

Five Drummers On Anybody's Best Of List. These Guys Had The Kind Of Chemistry

That Rarely Comes Along Once In Any Musician's Lifetime!People,Listen To

Perfection And Be In Awe Forever.

  • i want sheet music

  • Glenn Hughes is yelling that famous anti-drog song and at the same time was heavily addicted. Jon Lord tells the story that he sometimes had to pay Hughes dealers- that is odd.

  • FUCKING PURPLE!ONE THE GREATEST BANDS,OF ALL TIME.ALL OF THEM VIRTUOSO,S AND TWO AMAZING VOCALIST TOGETHER.

  • glenn is legend! great song!

  • WOOOOOOOOW! EPIC and LEGENDARY!! DEEP PURPLE FOREVER!!

  • one of the MOST solid rock bands!

  • Coverdale and Hughes make the perfect combo on this song.

  • No-one ever talks about Glenn Hughes' bass playing!! He's brilliant here, he brings a lot of funk/soul to this song. Makes DP sound like Sly and the Family Stone.

  • glenn huges is the real legend

  • Ritchie wasn't nervous; he was majorly PO'd. Paicey and Lord tell the story that they were supposed to go on like an hour earlier than they did, but Ritchie locked himself in a closet till it got dark enough, per their contract. LOTS of screaming and threats ensued, but finally the guys went out there and SMOKED!!

  • @misteraytch

Yeah, it was a chain of events.....From the early run show, finishin` with the cameramen on the left of the stage. He got it all in the end. From there on he `ll always use his camera zoom function and never poke into a musician of Ritchie`s scale so closely.

  • la mk 2 è la migliore

  • yeah i like this song...lord was great, hughes lovely, richtie was nervous, ian was an turbo engine, david start to feel the evening...glenn is different than roger... i don't know who's better...

  • David Coverdale on vocals is killer, But you gotta love Ian Gillan as well!

  • thanx for sharing good rock

  • Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    Let;s rock

    Deep Purple is sooo great!!!

  • I did the broadcast for California Jam.

    Prepare for the Coming.

  • some soul there

  • Jon Lord blows me away in this gig

  • @myownservant Indeed, it was the crushing sound of Jon and Ritchie who made Deep Purple sound like Deep Purple. Without those two, any incarnation is a pale imitation.

  • @lucifer73 And let's not forget Ian Paice on the drums - YES! Classic band and an awesome gig.

  • They were cooler back with the old line up....

  • This is killer...from one of the best rock albums I've ever heard.

  • hell yeah sing it dave!

  • They always do an amazing job of comming up with an ending to the songs that fade off on the album...this is one of my favorites for that

  • Possibly one of the best Rock songs ever written. 30+ years on!!!!!

  • Glenn Hughes is way better than Glover. He plays the Bass like a god + he sings better than anyone..

  • I totally agree. Glenn is a legend!!!!

  • u suck

  • Glenn Hughes is way better than Glover [2]

  • i dont think so

  • Better voice yes. Better bassplayer? Doubt it.

  • I didn't even know Glover could sing. he is quite good no

  • @davebones Thats not Roger Glover. Its Genn Hughes! He also played with a band called Trapeze-Their first album-Medusa-was produced by John Lodge of The Moody Blues

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSS

  • Great!!! Only DEEP PURPLE do it!!! Glenn Hughes is Fantastic!!!

  • coverdales in top form here, brilliant.

  • Coverdale by any other name will still be singing as great..............

  • imagine hughes or coverdale on pop or american idol .

they would blow simon cowels brains out.

    real singers.

imagine him asking them to sing thats my goal.

    ha ha.

  • good vision dude. very good.

    think about it.

  • i have thought about it my brother.

    enlighten me on your reply.

it leaves me with many questions and i fail to find the answer.

vision implies look to the future but i see the future in a negative way.

with so many troubles in the world good music stays unperturbed in the minds of its followers. crap music and singers merely add to our woes.

peace my brother and fare thee well.

  • the futue will show..

i would say..the music is just as the world is.like a mirror, you know what i meen.

so when the world (people, living, reality, social,) is crappy so what else should be the music.

but theres always a little hope, a few people who get noticed.

Look at my Band at my channel. Maybe you will like the music.

watch a few, we got different songs but overall we are Hardrock Musicians.

    Peace brother.

  • good reply. as for your band. refreshing.

the pulse of rock music still beats with bands like you.keep it going.

reminds me of 70s band judas priest.

as for the negative comments you recieve,

ignorance shows its true form in them.

i wish you well my brother in your journey through life.

may great things happen for you.

  • haha great comment

  • dude i would like kill to have gone to this concert live!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wrong. Gillan is not missing. With all respect Purple became really exciting only when Glenn and Dave joined.

  • Missing from the band Ian Gillan ,the best singer and song writer in the whole galaxy system...

  • Oh my, Althought I was only 3 little years old at the time, I wish I was there. Where is all the good music of the current time? Right now I suffer with Rap (Can't spell CRAP with out it). Thanks for the great post. I truly enjoyed it.

  • LOL, singer looks likes so girlish and baby faced but sings so MANLY, how is this possible?

  • David Coverdale doesn't look like a girl!

  • Well Claudio Sanchez looks manly as can be, and sings like a girl. So how is that possible?

  • because he is Whitesnake!

  • Just a great groove by the rhythm section, so tight you couldn't slip a rizla between 'em. Glenns playing on the off beat makes the song, you can really hear the Larry Graham (Sly and the Family Stone ) influence on his playing on this track. All this talk of whose a better line up for DP or 'greatest drummer' is like saying one colour is better than another. Just enjoy the best musicians giving it their all.

  • Ian Paice's drumming on this really knocks me out. You don't often hear a rock drummer play this soulful and funky. My favorite song off the "Burn" album.

  • Yes, much better than Carl Palmer and his silly kettle drums and electronic crap.

  • That's funny SteelyDug, that's exactly who I had in mind when I made that comment. Carl's drumming sounds like an industrial accident to me. I'm not a basher and I know Carl is a great drummer, it's just not my style.

  • Malicious? Moi? No no, just wicked British sense of humour, come now, you not denying that you some times flame the odd video, not an out and out troller but you do make comments on videos that you know will instigate a flurry of replies! Ditto the last bit! Goodbye.

  • Right Dug, a warning shot across the bow this is just the start if you want to carry it on, 'puter tricks?

No mate, Ive hacked you, I can track every comment you make, I can clone every account you ever make, so best stop right now sunshine, 'cos you gonna lose boy, REAL BAD!

  • HA HA you been owned dude!

  • ha ha, dude you been OWNED BIG TIME!

  • Ha ha, still talking to 'your' audience then!

    Get over yourself Dugell!

  • and try as you may, you are clearly outsmarted, outclassed and only able to attempt feeble insults. You started this fool. Putting you nose where it shouldn't belong. Want to talk music? Drummers? Skills? I thought not

  • Got the heads up about you and checked out some of the other videos you've commented on under your various aliases, man your one deeply disturbed individual. What happened dude, did you score some bad acid at an "acid rock" concert or maybe you slipped in some "horseshit" dugell!

    Ha ha ha ha!

  • There's difference between me making a typographical error, and you just being ignorant to musical ability. You bring nothing to the table regarding music, so it becomes a Grammar class? Please child...stick to the subject of music. Oh! I forgot. You are clueless in that area.

  • ha ha, mr pompous twat seems to be about as popular as a turd in a swimming pool today, why don't you go and find a crappy ELP video to jizz over you fucking prick?

  • calm down folks, jesus! hey im new to YT but what the heck is all this about? just read through the comments and i think muley's right, why watch a video of a band and then say band is betta, never heard of flaming but that seems very apt. go watch a elp video dug, for christ sake. anyway, shit hot video, ROCKS!

  • LOL You have videos of some drummers. so that makes you something special? pfffffft. You, CHILD, are worthless, and around here are considered a liar. Post something of yourself playing drums. I need a laugh.

  • What's with the big letters? Is that meant to signify something? Sorry to steal the jam out of your doghnut cuntfuck, but you're not in mummys pram now, no good shouting, that won't get your way! Have you got anything to say? Come on, either shit or get off the potty tosspot.

  • Well Mr "Last Transmission" (as if you could ignore me). I am saying things...Obviously over your head. I am sure you're a child and a worthless drummer. Oooh! He has videos! LOL

  • Go on, keep twisting everything! The reason you're trying to barrack me from two different videos is becoming obvious now. Yes, I said that I've got many greats in my videos, but that was in reply to a comment that you sent implying that I had not heard of such drummers as Rich, Weckl, Cobham etc OK?

Oh bollocks to you, you want the last word that bad? Go ahead, so fuckin' what!

  • Kill that motherfucker

  • Hey, SteelyDug -- What the fuck is your problem. My friend TheMule is entitled to his opinion. Someone gives an opinion and you blast him. I know for a fact that Mule knows his shit. You could learn a lot from him if you weren't such a know it all prick. Hey, do you know Betty, by chance. Drop dead.

  • And by the way, you fucking reptile, I've seen them all in my 50+ years. The best ever in Jazz and Rock respectivly are Mr. Rich and Mr. Paice. These are THE 2 heavyweights in their chosen fields. This is so obvious to anyone with ANY drumming knowledge. Here it comes . . . . . . .

  • Long Live Ritchie Blackmore!!!

  • The stuff Paice sticks in, both on the studio version and this one, wow! Great drummer!

  • Great power

  • Será q surgirão bandas desta qualidade novamente???

Acho difícil, a música ta completamente corrompida!!!

  • it's very deep purple, cool song and nice voice

  • Hail to Blackmore, the true metal Father

  • Glenn Hughes really thought he was Stevie Wonder didn't he! LOVE this line-up. Very under-rated

  • in Russia of 70's Burn was one of the famuose's Deep Purple albums, xaras'o !

  • I uploaded that song performance by whitesnake

  • Amen! Watching "I Love the '70's" on VH1 is NOT how it was. You would think we all rollerskated in polyester suits to Leo Sayer! It was Zeppelin, Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Yes, Hendrix, Robin Trower, Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush... and a concert ticket, drinks and T-shirt would run you about $20.00.

  • RORY GALLAGHER TOO

  • "I've been called by many names,

and all of them are bad.

I can take it all the same,

    It's all I've ever had!"

See, when I was 15 in '75, if your voice hadn't changed, you sang the Glenn Hughes, if it had, you sang like Coverdale. Although gas had gone up to 55 cents, beer, pot, girls, driving and rock & roll were still all. The seventies. Such a time.

  • I wonder...where is Bill Saxx after all these years?

  • Love it!!!! One of my fave albums!!
