They decided to name there club Celtic (originally pronounced 'Keltic') to pay homage to their Scottish and Irish connections. I do know why Scotland joined the Union (Darian Disaster) but that just shows that Scotland was forced into joining the Union because they needed money, not because they wanted to.
Scotland historically has the right to independance from England and I beleive it should be.

Celtic were not found guilty of child abuse in 1997, Jim Torbett was. You can't blame one man's sick mind on a whole football club. Theres also a hell of a lot of un-religious, not irish, supporters of Celtic. It's just down in the central belt that people think religion and politics has anything to do with football.
