Ok everyone. The reason dogs and other animals can "sense" earthquakes is because they can hear low frequency sound waves that humans can't. Low frequency waves are produced before an earthquakes hits. Plain and simple.

Guys, it started off as a small tremor. The dog got scared with the first tremor. When the guy got out of the chair, he already knew there was an eq going on. Can't you tell by his expression? By the time it is strong enough to be visible in the camera, it means the thing was huge. It takes a few seconds till the slight shaking becomes huge. Yeah right, the dog predicted the earthquake.
