To add another point..What about a single mother that had active help from a close friend or relative of the same sex? Isn't that technically being raised by 2 people of the same gender? That is quite a common occurance in today's world isn't it. All a child really needs to grow into a great person is love and compassion. Who cares where that comes from?

It doesn't say anything about homosexuality in the ten most important rules God laid down for us, those being the Ten Commandments. We should focus on getting those right before we follow any other "rule" God has given us.

I dont know if agree with what he said, but he spoke eloquently. I had to listen to it twice, and twice i was highly impressed. I'm not for or against gay marriage. It nothing to doing with me. There is a lot of things i dont was to see in the "straight" community. Marriage is between two people and the God they serve and "NO ONE ELSE".

@Mrnmayse I understand your point of view however I have come to realize that in order to protect our own freedoms and rights, we must support those of others whose beliefs we might not hold as dear. I have no inclinations toward homosexual relationship personally, but I find it abhorrent and dangerous to see codification and exclusion applied to the union of two people in a legal sense, because its the first step in a long and slippery slope.

this is amazing :) i am lesbian and hope to raise kids one day farrrrrrrr from now but i hope to have it so my kid turns out that well-rounded, educated, and simple realize that maybe God and the bible says its wrong, but that doesn't change the fact that JESUS wants us to love all and not judge anyone by what they do or how they live, that's His job. especially since this has to do with love...love just is. thats it...perhaps the need to re-evaluate this term more?

I honestly hadn't given much consideration to voting in favor of gay marriage, just because that was the way I was raised and that's what I believe, though I would never discriminate, because that's what I believe as well (I have 3 gay friends and love them very much), but this speech was so remarkable in it's power and honesty I may have to consider a little more carefully next time I vote. It was beautiful.
